Jones. He has more of that hero-luck than Lara has. Plus, as Japes so delicately stated, he carries a whip.

Also, his movies are way better.

 

I'm pretty sure that if any cultist was going to try and rip Croft's heart out of her ribcage, they'd be distracted by the other equipment on her chest and would likely spend enough time there for Croft to affect her escape.
