This gun should've been in Arcanum!

Hand-held multi-barreled gun dating from 1755. It represents an attempt to produce a more powerful firearm. It had to be rested on a wall before it could be fired.

Now that's one wonderful firearm. But wouldn't you need about 20 STR to wield the thing?

Makes me wonder if whoever thought up the Shrek's Multi-Barrel Gun knew about this thing.

Well, that opens for the gun in our Arcanum 2 fanmod. A fuckload of gunpower, but slow as hell. Yum!

 

There could be a gatling gun in the game; they existed during that time. The only problem was that they had to be mounted on small wagons. If a smaller caliber "version" could be made, one that might be mounted on a tripod, like a camera (except it can kill you), it would be very portable, very fast firing, and quite powerful. I'm thinking something the size of a .308 (as opposed to the .58 the original used).
Unless you've got a half ogre who doesn't mind hauling your crap around, and by hauling I mean pulling it behind him everywhere. Unless that could be mounted on a sufficient tripod...anyway, horses might need to become a part of Arcanum if a small one seems silly.
I'm thinking that if it was belt-fed it would be great, but those top-loading straight magazines could do it.

 

It was actually used by preachers as a concealed weapon.

 

...Oddly enough, I can see a couple preachers I know using something like that.

I'd have to agree. I am a little curious though as to how the powder in the pan was expected to stay in place during a hard swing. Were you expected to fire it first, then swing?
