This is due to many problems caused by the game's incompatibility with Windows XP Service Pack 2. Mainly these problems involve: 1) Lack of cut-scenes 2) Sound problems 3) Looting problems 4) Crashes upon exiting the game. Fortunately Atari's Pr Head Brandon "Grok" Smith responded to the issue: <blockquote>I'll forward this to the production kids. There's no reason why we would not QA a new patch.</blockquote> The 3rd patch was supposed to be made anyway after there were cries as to how little the 2nd one fixed, so perhpaps they won't limit themselves to just fixing the SP2 compatibility issues. The problem is that even with all the bugs fixed, ToEE will still be a slightly less than perfect game. Hopefully Troika learnt something from it all though.
