    EXCUSE ME.

The title of this thread is "The Truth (As I see it)", not "Ha ha, let's guess everyone's ages and have fun and be happy, lol". So I will thank you all to stay on topic.

But... But we never stay on topic (for very long).

...I guess your old mind just can't keep up with us.

I feel this thread has evolved to encompass the general theme of "Ha ha, let's contain the crazies to this thread if we can. lol."

Ugh. There is so much wrong with that - I don't even know where to start.

For example? Do you really expect people to stay on THE EXACT SAME TOPIC for 29 pages? It's alright, lay back a bit. It's not the end of the goddamn world.

For example, I am not your "broski". Not least because it is not a real word. And there is also no such word as "alright" either - I think you meant "all right". Not to mention that going off topic is not all right.

    Not all right at all.

And for the final insult, these literary gems are coming from a character called "Kirkegaard". Hah! I don't think so.

The Oxford English Dictionary would disagree.

The Oxford English Dictionary is quite clear that "alright" is not suitable for formal writing and is considered wrong grammatically. The only reason it includes it as an alternative spelling is because idiots like Kirkegaard don't know any better and keep using it.

Oh, and while we're on the subject:

That should be "you or me".

    Yep, that's my mistake.

Oh, and while we're on the subject, it seems that you either have to accept 'alright' as a perfectly fine word, since the OED doesn't, as you previously stated, cite the word as being ungrammatical (what it does say is that some people consider it improper to use in formal writing, despite the fact that there's no reason to consider it so), or you have to reject it as a word based on the fact that popular (mistaken) usage doesn't constitute its becoming one, which you argued quite vehemently for with regard to the interchanging of 'homogeneous' and 'homogenous'.

And how do you determine one's mental age? Especially considering that maturity and immaturity can co-exist within the same person.

I was hoping you wouldn't remember that.

Anyway, I don't think I have to accept Kirkegaard as a perfectly fine poster, regardless of what your precious OED says.

When that happens, we all revert to a mental age of 16. The only distinguishing factor is our physical age, which determines how quickly we... uh... reach... you know... maximum jubbly appreciation level.
