Fear not brave soul! It is not the first time and shall certainly not be the last that what I say is not understood by the intended target or others!?! I was stating the following:
    1) I am quick to admit when I have a lack of knowledge about something, and was stating my oversight
    2) Your correction/clarification was aptly just and applied
    3) You have acrued, or now contain, a certain measure of intelligence above that of most
    4) I was giving credit where credit was due
    5) Your intelligence is serving you well enough
    6) I was sending a wish that you never do not know what to say/do
    7) There was an apology in there

Does that make things a little clearer? I sure hope so.

Oh, OK, er, thanks. Guess I'm so used to flamers on this wondrous little board that I kindof assumed that's what you were doing. Not to be pedantic, but I think what confused me was when you said "feign ignorance," which means pretend you don't know something, not pretend you do. Thanks for the clearup.

Age has little to do with I. Q. I test out in the 2% bracket & always have since my first test at 7 or 8.

There were two scales used for I. Q. The standard tests of the mid 20th century were the Wexler - Belevue which placed the 2% line at 140, & the Stanford - Benett (spelling big time here, pronunced bin ay, a fernch name I guess) which used 160 for that 2% mark. 2% = genius. The percentile score, not the number score is the important thing.

The only thing that I. Q. tests can measure is your ability to take I. Q. tests. You can be bright as all hell, but if you were raised in spanish east harlem, with a New York getto dwellers comand of the language, well homeboy, you are not going to do as well on most of those tests as a suburban kid. I know full well what they say they measure, & how they define I. Q. in those psych books, but those books will not point out the shortcommings of the whole field.

Last time I checked, science had 36 different things that contributed to I. Q. or were considered intelegence. They hadn't figured how to squeeze more than 20 of those into tests. The traits that help me the most on those things are, I think fast. Got a heavily overclocked processor. I think in three dimensions instantly & without consious thought. Kind of how Chalupa spells. There are certain questions, involving wierd shaped boxes, that take most people 90 - 180 seconds. Those take me one second, & that's checking the instant answer with concious thought. Also, those mid 20th century were heavily biased toward northeastern upper middle class culture. Me all the way. I still scored in the 2% bracket in a later, more culture neutral test.

So have fun with those things, but don't take them seirously, wether they are on line or for real. And remember, all you genisues out there, we are 2% of the population. With the world population at over 6,000,000,000 that means there are over 120,000,000 of us. Not a very exclusive club.

I believe that it is now time to let this particular thread wither into obscurity as it has become nothing more than one big dick waving contest to see who has the bigger dick.

    I.Q. matters not at HoL...

    Intelligence matters little more...

Let it be said that if you are, or once were, an Arcanum fan that cared enough to find this site and actually become a member and participate once in a while; then you are welcome regardless of your I.Q. and no matter your intelligence!!!!! :)

IQ is simply a measure of your intellectual potential, it doesn't actually guarantee anything. There's also a bias on any test that's yet been devised, and because there's no perfect, standard universal test, you can't really compare scores, because everything about the tests (including the results) will be different for each group.

    Re: IQ Test Result

Rane, I got a 146 . I'm 14. So that means that I can learn more than you? I think they should make one that tells you how much you actually do learn. Instead of how MUCH your capable of learning, that would be much more useful. Though I'd get like a 70 since I rarely put up any effort to learn.

Ok, first of all, IQ tests on the net do suck. I did like a trillion of them during computer class at highschool, and depending on the test i was either a genius or a walking plant. And i once did a real test, where i got 135, which was according to the test far above average :D
Secondly, is there something with *points 2 posts above* that dude? His name is like a bad omen...

Dude, spammy, you don't 'get it up', at least not in that sense. It's isn't like a sport, where if you practice it gets better, the ACTUAL iq rating thing, not these bs online tests, tend to remain the same all your life. You iq is, as someone said, Jar was it?, your ability to learn, but that in no determines how much you know. My sister's friend is 23. He knows more than I do. But my iq is higher than his. Which basically means, I learn faster than him, but I'm still stupider than he is.
