Question about Chris Bedoes first arcanum module

got a question about it I`ve been playing it for 2 days now and I really like it, after a few times playing arcanum it gets kinda boring, but anyway the tech woman in shrouded hills keeps telling me I`m not techie enough by now I`m on 33 tech orso how many do you need to have to get her to join and why does sogg try to kill you when your picking a lock when hes in your party??
