I will warn you, don't buy it if you don't want to read what is effectively an interactive book. There are about 1.2 million lines of dialog in the game (though depending on your alignment and the side quests you pick up, you'll average only reading 800,000 or so).

That said it is one of the greatest stories you will ever read. A rich, immersive story that really sucks you in. Tons of philosophy, multiple endings, NPCs that have their own reasons for joining you rather than "Hey you don't have somebody following you Mr. Hero, I will!!" that is popular in most RPGs, and an amazing quest to discover who you are make this one of the greatest games of all time.

Yea, the EQ-reference* said it better than I ever could.

*I originally was going to call you a pokemon, then I realized I was thinking of magicarp, so I looked up your pseudonym.

You ever played half the old console games that everyone loves? Some of them were genius, but a lot of them just, well, sucked.

Sadly, the genius ones and the suck ones were all too often the same. :(

Yep, but it made my copy unstable. Run it with the official patch & the widescreen patch (I used it in 1024x768).

Also, you can modify the game to run at 60fps instead of 30, but you need to switch it back in some in-game cutscenes.
