On the subject of spam.

I've posted something like this before, but apparently it didn't help. I think too many perfectly good threads are getting ruined by bullshit. A little fun is ok. A little spam is ok. But this is getting out of hand. You've all seen the pic I gave mr. Krix, but in all truth, a lot more people around here deserve it.

Please keep these two rules of thumb in mind:

1. try to confine the useless junk to a few threads
2. only post if you really have something to say, something useful to add to the discussion.

Prospects of me coming down hard in any way on misbehavers are fairly doubtful, as I am a pretty soft-hearted forum moderator, but I might offer the position to someone who doesn't mind laying down the law. So please. Limit your spamming.

Make an official spam thread.
If you can make sure that post in that thread dont count.

Label it at such.

 

it does get a bit silly after a while, and then a bit more than annoying... one of the many reasons that I don't post much... I have hardly any... "Pearls of Wisdom" for most topics..

Is that possible? To make a thread where the posts don't count? That would be cool. Maybe any thread with OT as a starter? It would give us a chance to have fun without ruining the discussions. I know there are some threads where I want to play along with the spammy, fun nature of the discussion but don't want people to think I'm just posting to boost my ranking.

 

I'm just about keeping my spam under control...if i feel the urge i go on a rampage thru the chat :grin:

It's fun and very theraputic only I advise to do it when Calis isn't there....he gets a bit grumpy.

Like me! I haven't had anything to say for about 3 weeks now, so I haven't posted a damn thing. I remeber back [3 weeks ago] when people were constantly on my case about spam...oh those were the days...
