Apparently, this criminal needed more fucking over. If he took it to court, he really didn't get enough of that bat.

Snow I didn't think the US constitution was written in a "loose" way. I thought it was fairly adamant about human rights etc. But I acknowledge that I know alot less about this than you do. I also think that most humans with a normal brain when they are born inevitable fit into their society whatever it may be. Whether they are living the good life or have to struggle everyday hunting rats. Humans, especially children will mould depending on the situation. The American society, based on the constitution is the reason your country is the way it is and I agree, I don't think we can reasonable expect more from a set of rules on paper from 200 years ago. But I think we should attribute the way your country is to human integrity and the people that made the country not the constitution. It's not a code, it's guidlines really.

You also took my post the wrong way, I was saying that I was blaming "you" meaning anyone for stretching my arse enough to fit all that hokey pokey in there. Not that the constitution was written loosely

I suggest that check out the number of police shootings of unarmed civilians, against number of civilians shooting shooting unarmed police, I do believe the score a little one sided, there are effective nonlethelful, Tazer's for example.

As for for police proctecting the the unarmed civilians from the crimminals with gunsl

Currentily I believe there a number of calls of investigations into police corruption in a number of different states.

Wasn't it Shadygrove who kept bitching about how corrupt the police where all the time here?

Anyway, everyone knows that the litigation systems suck in pretty much every known country - the fact that people doing stupid and/or illegal things can sue other people for their own actions defies belief. Society is very big on shifting responsibilities to others these days, and I can't stand it.

This is a really dumb and meaningless point. Obviously not many police are going to be shot unarmed because, surprise surprise, police carry guns! As for Tazers, which are technically "less-lethal," nonlethal is an obsolete term, they are not in any way as effective as guns. Do you even know what you are talking about? Except for the Tazer Advance, all Tazer devices need for the officer to be within arm's reach of the perp. How do you get within arm's reach of an armed perp? As for the Tazer Advance, it is a pistol-like weapon that fires two "probes," which are barbed steel spikes. The probes are attached to the weapon with electric wires. So the officer fires the probes into the perp's chest, and when the probes sink into the flesh, a high-voltage shock is administered. Unfortunately, the range is only 31 feet. So it's only really useful in limited, close-range situations. The fact stands that the only truly effective tool to stop a criminal is a gun.

What the hell is that supposed to mean? The fact that I own several shotguns is threatening someone else's right to personal safety? Please elaborate.
Any greater restrictions would be even more of an infringement on Second Amendment rights and personal freedom in general, which is actually far more important than personal saftey. The point is, gun control is actually a PR stunt more than anything else. Like Retard said,
The ban is just to make sume idiot politicians and lawmakers happy, obviously none of these people have ever handled a gun in their lives. Most "common" people who support gun control have no idea what they are talking about, instead professing a "fear of guns," or just that more guns must create more crime, because they have been brainwashed by the liberal media and school systems. Banning assault weapons and limiting magazine capacity has done nothing whatsoever to decrease handgun violence. As I stated in my post (which you conveniently ignored, with the "not enough time" excuse), the concealed carry laws enacted in Texas lowered gun violence, while gun control laws do no such thing.
    Whatever.

And Retard, you are the man. Keep it coming.

Personally, though I own no guns, I think shotguns are the perfect home defence devices, some sneaking around your house? Just pump a round into the chamber within earshot of the invader, and they'll probably wet themselves, if not, you can always make sure the first round is a blank, to really scare the shit out of them. After that they'll think you're firing on them, and if they havent run screaming, then you know you're in trouble, and you've got a few more live rounds ready for that son of a bitch. As for personal defense in a setting where a shotgun is impractical, I've been attacked by about 100 dogs on this trip I'm on (btw, I'm now in Pueblo Colorado) and Mace works wonderfully, Tazers are also available to the public, and I've actually seen web sites detailing how you can build one on your own. A mugger is not going to come at you from 100 yards, or even 10 yards away, hes going to be 4 feet from you, and mace sprays an accurate stream for about 12 feet, and tazers incapacitate almost instantly. With these types of weapons available, the only use I can imagine for handguns amongst those of us that are not in the millitary, or the police force, is armed robbery. Rifles are much better for sport than a snub nosed .38 or whatever.

As for michael moore, I don't understand how he is any more self promoting than any hollywood producer. He wants to make points about certain things and sometimes these points may or may not degenerate into hysterical arguments, but as for telling a slanted version of the truth, I'd have to draw the line there. To only hold Michael Moore responsible for possible inconsistencies in his documentries (for examle, michael used some footage from an NRA rally in a different as an example of what happened at the rally two weeks after columbine in Littleton Colorado, that doesn't mean there wasn't still a rally there). News Media in general is plagued by this sort of thing, as is politics.

May be I'll talk about michael moore a little more later, but right now I just think our entire system of media is all about slamming the left or right, depending on the network. Michael Moore has done some pretty sensational things, and I think he at least deserves credit for speaking his mind, and backing up what he says, where most people merely spout shit, and go about their business, making no effort to clean up after themselves.

Latest version of the tazer, uses two lower powered maser (microwave lazer) to create ionized pathways through the atmosphere, instead barbs and wires. The major problems are range (25 Feet), simple to sheild against (grounded metal foil),and damage to the eyes(lawsuits)

I'm talking about Australia laws, over here pump action and auto shotgun are illegal. All firearms require licenceing, handguns require membership of a aurthoeized club or be work related, a police check, and there is talk of requireing a mental evalutation added as well.

Rifles, shotguns, airrifles and compressed air speargun require licences. Rifles, shotguns, airrifles also require documentation for area for use. ie shooting club or written perrmission of a property owner. Most semi-auto require special licences. ie work related.

Crossbows and sling shots are soon to be added the list, Ammo puschase requires proof of licences. Ownership of any unliicenced firarm is criminal offence, this included disabled collector peices.

A bit of a difference don't you think?

Interesting that I agree with all the arguments you've said except the last one. Moore is a liar, no matter how you put it. He shows his point of view, his theories, as a proven fact. His "documentaries", are in fact editorials. He acts against the journalist codex thus close to a criminal.
You said it yourself that he edited the NRA rally. You know the full text and you've seen the result. If I didn't do some reasearch and didn't ask arround, I'd think that the NRA are a bunch of egocentric, trigger-happy punks. I am saying that I am sure they aren't, but the speech was cunningly cut from a rather polite form into a set provocative, direct, insolent barks.
Hope you understand what I mean.
And yes, media is as crooked as politics are.

    As you wish.
    Look here.

Of course, this info might be too fabricated. Nonetheless, I tend to believe the guy more than Moore after I've looked for proofs myself.

Well, Sleek, it looks like you're wrong, again. Everyone knows that Bowling for Columbine is a crock of shit and isn't a documentary in any way shape or form. The fact that it is called a documentary is evil and immoral. I hate Moore for that, let alone his ridiculous politics.

5th horseman, it sucks to be an Australian. Here in the Greatest Nation On Earth, you don't need a liscense to own a rifle or shotgun, only an 18 or over ID and a clean record (they run an FBI background check, mine took less than a minute). So I can buy as many shotguns as I want, and ammo has no restrictions whatsoever. My ten yearold brother could walk into Dick's Sporting Goods and buy twelve boxes of Winchester Super-X 12-guage slugs, and nobody would blink an eye. I've done it myself many times. Slingshots, crossbows, and any other bow have no restrictions either. I own an assassin's pistol crossbow.

And yet, Australia has relatively few gun-related crimes, while America is loaded with them. Now why would that be...

the majority of gun crimes occur in the cities. out in podunk, everyone has a gun of some sort ot be used for hunting... and we know from a young age not to shoot other people (unless they're stealing your cattle or dating your daughter) i also never knew of a single case out in the country of a kid accedentally shooting themselves, but it seems to happen all the time in the city. gun control is not enough... you have to have gun knowledge, as well.

It's because guns are still too damn hard to get by! Decent folks need more arms, because the felons are quite clearly not afraid enough!!!!

Rosie, I think I love you. What you said was right on. Ever heard of a school shooting in a rural area? No. Shit like that only goes down in upper-class white suburban schools and in minority inner-city schools. For the suburbans, it's because the kids are right bastards who have bad relationships with their parents and almost zero life experience. They get pissed off, and because they are children of privilege their view of reality is skewed, and so they pop a few of their classmates to blow off steam. In the inner-city schools, the kids are poor, underpriviliged and have drug-addict parents who slap the shit out of them, and weapons are fairly easy to come by. They are also uneducated and think that gangs are cool, so they do the "gangsta thang" at school.
In rural areas, kids are raised to respect guns and human life. Hunting doesn't make kids more violent. My buddy Lonny lives about twenty minutes north (and more podunk) of where I am, and during hunting season school was closed opening day, and all the kids kept their shotguns in their lockers so they could go hunting during lunch.

Check this out: Who's Under Assault in the Assault Weapon Ban?
This guy knows what's up, and his points are almost impossible to argue with.
