This whole Superbowl thing fits perfectly well for a Shakespeare quote - namely: "Much ado about nothing". Now, it might just be me, but boobs aren't exactly dangerous are they? Just two protruding parts on the female torso, ideal to nourish babies with. Not the "Weapons-Of-Mind-Corruptionâ„¢" some people seem to be aiming at.

Granted, I'm not the one to scream and shout for more boobs on television, but when people are forseeing Armageddon in Janet Jacksons "special jewelry" and the picture of Janet exposed has become the most searched for picture in web history, some people really have to take a break...

On a completely unrelated note, this is my second anniversary here at HoL. How the fuck did that happen?

    Am I old now? :-o

Jeebus, more searched than the Paris Hilton sex tape? People really are getting desperate. Its just one boob, and a saggy one at that. At least you can see both of Hilton's on her video, and there's, like, that thing called sex...

This whole boob thing reminds me of when I was 8 or 9 and there were some Aerosmith video on a music program called "Voxpop" where there were a black (I think) chick flashing one of her boobs.

The program started at seven and ended at eight, and there weren't a big deal with that boob, I thought it was sexy, but noone else seemed to notice.

Maybe I just imagined it, and it wasn't real, or maybe you're the ones who aren't real. :paranoid:

Given that the camera in the Hilton video didn't move, was set on that 'low-light' setting which makes everything a different shade of green, and didn't show that much in the first place, there isn't much to see in the video anyway. Besides, at least Jackson got famous for her singing, Paris got famous because of the video and her dad's money. That, and she's as ugly as sin.

Uh, unless you saw a different version of the video, it was quite explicit and you can see quite some things. Not in full colour, true, but for me its content over colours anytime  Seriously, despite the problems you mentioned, the video is more revealing and has more interesting content, even if it would rank as a bad porno production.

Janet isn't even that good now; when i saw a picture of her showing her breast, my first thought was "OMG that corpse is showing a boob". It took me some seconds to mentalize myself that that was really Janet.

I know that's sarcasm, but I'm not quite sure why it's merited.

The image that the Superbowl tries to project is that it's fun and exciting (and wholesome... I'm not making this up, this is what they go for) so it offended people because they didn't think it was appropriate for the occasion. I personally thought it was in poor taste and just a pathetic grab for attention.

Besides, don't you know that sarcasm is just the protest of the weak?

Finally someone who thinks she's ugly. Just because someone has alot of money and is constantly exposed on television does not make one "HOT". Any ugly person can gain instant sex appeal if shown to the public enough times. Except Micheal Jackson.

If black (yes I said Black) people would stop whinning about the past and reopening old wounds for the black youth of the future maybe we would forget the color of their skin. But with them constantly telling us about how they where slaves and mistreated, how else are we but to see them but different. I personally can't wait till everyone from that whole segragation time period passes away so the future African American population can't use that as a reference to their daily lives. They should be happy. Only in America can a black person earn millions dollars for singing rap songs about how they want/have millions of dollars. They even have white kids trying to be like them.

And back to the topic concerning the whole boob fiasco, if I don't have enough time to jack-off to it then it's not that big of a deal.

    Snow--

it's sarcasm because despite the SuperBowl's claim to modesty, every year they have a half time show with half-dressed female pop stars and commercials full of girls in bikinis drinking beer.

as for the boob itself, i used to see more when i would watch r-rated movies with my mom, and she didn't yell "shut your eyes!" fast enough...

First of all, this little quote is a pretty good example of what I'd consider unintentional racism. I wasn't angry at "black people" for whining about white crimes of the past, I was angry at the author for making uch broad and ignorant accusations. If I was black I'd be angry at you for making such broad and ignorant statements as well. Its not black people I was angry at, it was black person. As for rap, why do you care if white kids, or kids of any color race or creed try to be like rappers. Why is it especially shocking if WHITE kids try to be like rappers? Who cares? If you dont like rap then make fun of the superbowl halftime show, its more productive to exhibit insightful criticisms than it is to make comments on the color of rap-listeners. The real problem I percieve to be keeping black/white americans from forgetting all our past bullshit is the fact that we make such broad generalizations about white/black stereotypes.

In conclusoin I'd suggest some deep inner reflection in regards to that last statement. If you continue to make comments like that in public you will be branded at least an ass hole, at most a racist.

    just some fyi folks..................

i read a few references to the body jewelry/boob adornment. yet noone can accurately name it!?! :-? (I got into the whole body piercing scene when I was young, dumb, & single)
if you truly look closely at the pic, you can see that the star piece is over her nipple, and on her boob. it is held in place by the barbell through her nipple.

nothing fancy mind you-lots of people have em & wear em-but rather nice in my P.O.V. very nice jewelry, and whether planned or not it happened. lets get over it, we've all seen one b4. and lets face it, if you have seen one boob, or one set; you have pretty much seen em all (why do you think people pierce em? something different we dont see everyday, all the time).

My last statement was in positive for African Americans. The fact that Anglo youths would want to impersinate African Americans is a sign that we don't care what color people's skins are. But YOU can make any statement seem negative if you pry deep enough. And having read alot of your past post hearing you turn mine negative doesn't really shock me that much. And even if I don't like rap I respect the fact that certain people from the ghetto can make more money than I can dream of. Hell I wish I could be a black rap star and live like that. So try to look at the positive side of things before attacking.

As for me being a racist. No I'm not. I just don't like people who whine about problems all the time, no matter what race.

On a more humourous side, I think it would be funny to preface any comments to a person discriminated against (let's say for instance blacks) with "I'm not racist, but..." and then go on about something completely different, and which has nothing to do with race.

    That would be funny.

You mean, like, "I'm not a racist, but I like applesauce?"

On wiggers: I hate it when people of ANY color try to be like rappers. The "ghetto culture" is impractical, materialistic, and immoral. For the first, look at hip-hop style. What the fuck is up with wearing one's overly baggy jeans with the crotch around the knees? How are you supposed to run around and cap people's asses and do other tough gangster shit when you have to walk bow-legged to keep your wedding tackle hidden? While materialism isn't so bad in small doses, when people are wearing "bling" and decorate their "cribs" with ridiculous, gaudy shit because it's expensive, they just need to be shot. Do something worthwhile with your money, damnit! Contribute to cancer studies, or invest it, or hire mercenaries and invade Cuba, or something! For the last one, how is it cool and supportive of women's rights to refer to all that is female as "bitches and hos?" Look at songs like "Work It" by Missy Elliot (I pray every day for that drivel to be washed from my brain), or "Ho's in different Area Codes," by Ludacris. Damn that bastard, stealing the name from an amazing metalcore band! Of course, Norma Jean is a much better moniker, but I digress. Yeah, so anyway, because ghetto culture sucks, it pisses me off that every other minority group embraces it. Develop your own counter-culture, for the love of God!

I'm not racist, but I think the whole Superbowl incident is ridiculously over-exposed (no pun intended), and this thread is just an example of that.

I'm not racist but "metal core" culture is just as retarded as rap culture.

Its just a bunch of angry vegans with tattoos covering their bodies like shirts, and eye brow piercings, and big biceps. What does that have to do with music? Sure its a little more less destructive than gangster rap culture, but just because its not destructive dont mean it aint PRO-ductive!

    Yah heard?

I'm not anti-Semitic, but I really think you should shut up Fish. I'm also not a feminist, but I can't stand the majority of rap and R&B...especially seeing as R&B doesn't HAVE the blues part to it anymore.
