How do I get the Vendigroth Device if I'm a melee brute with 1 IN?

I knew playing an Ogre would make me lose out on some quests, but after 3 playthroughs with average to ungodly IN characters, I feel like there has to be something I can do for this. It's a main quest thing, so surely (like all the previous quest points until now) the game has a way for a nimrod character to still find the Device, right?

I could just follow the online walkthroughs to do all the glyphs to open all the doors in Tulla so I can speak with Pelojian at midnight, or I could just "wander" straight to the Vendigroth Ruins based on the online maps, but I'd really much rather follow the idiot's storyline....if there is one for this point in the game.

 

I've completed the game once with low intelligence, it's totally possible and fun. Just do the Pelojah riddle even if it doesn't make much sense.
