Same here. People say it's a great game every time one gets released but they are all the exact same game done over and over again with a different skin.

And the occasional idiot will play it and think "well that was good, I think I'll go and see if it's as much fun outside," and go shoot at cars.

Your signature is nine times as high as your post. Fix it.

I thought GTA IV was quite different than GTA III, VC, and SA. It's all the same core gameplay, yeah, but why would anybody buy three Halo games, 6-7 Call of Duty games, and 4 Half-Life 2 games if they were that concerned about the differences only being on the side features and atmosphere?

A kid tried this, then blamed the video game. The Judge ruled that the video game was not the source of his behavior, and locked him up.

My point is this: video games are NOT a source of "Gee, I want to go run over cops and kill hookers!" in your average person. For someone to play a video game, and then decide that this is an acceptable course of action for them to take in life, then there are much deeper problems existing in the person. Usually, but not always, stemming from family issues. Also, if Little Jimmy shoots up a mall, then claims it's because of a video game? His parents should be slapped in the face and castrated. They should've realized that this game wasn't appropriate for Little Jimmy, and refused to buy it for him. The source of the problem isn't video games. In almost all cases, I think that the problem is bad parenting.

Some people have brains fucked up so badly that they'll get stupid ideas from pretty much anything, therefore they shouldn't be allowed to have access to spoons, let alone video games. It isn't really that hard to recognize what is and what isn't the cause behind a problem. But the hell with that, next time a kid kills someone with a spoon, let's blame it on the spoon and demand banning cutlery.

You make quite a valid point, but it reminded me too much of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9VDvgL58h_Y

Quan Chi's not a kid but an oni, so it doesn't count.

A little long on the runtime, but an excellent video.

If kids could kill people with spoons, we wouldn't give spoons to kids, for much the same reason we don't give them guns or knives or hot tea. We can't really blame violence on video games in the same manner until somebody beats a kid to death with the cartridge. Which is totally possible, now that the games are stored in devices similar to Xena's disc weapon.
