In any case, Energy Weapons becomes nearly useless towards the end of FO2, due to the high resistance of energy damage to advanced power armor.

Actually, power armour's weakness is plasma weaponry. It's resistant to pretty much everything else though. Except critical bullet damage. :) A high critical character wielding a gauss rifle is one kickass character!

Hi, guys. Wow. I haven't been here in a while. The new job's keeping me busy and tired. .... No, wait. That's just the masturbating that's keeping me tired.

Yes, I finished with the character I created first. I tagged small guns, energy weapons (because I read on this board that they rawhked) and docter (waste of a fucken tag)

Well, I'm putting most into Small Guns right now. Small Guns is now at 102, I think. My other tags are Big Guns(because I think I read on this board that Big Guns was a better skill than Energy Weapons in FO II), and Lockpick. About weapons.. I had to fight like a week with no weapons at all, and just Sulkik's dumb ass to back me up. I finally found a couple 10mm and I know am employing a 14mm pistolero. I've seen a couple .44 magnums for sale, and even a .44 magnum revolver that looks pretty sweet, but the issue is still the money. Or the lack thereof. I cannot, cannot raise money for having to pay people's way. (Sulkik, Vic, and it seems everybody else wants 800 bucks or 500 bucks or 1,000 bucks for shit or quests)

Good damn question. I don't really know if it could be made easier, without telling the player "This skill isn't worth shit, this one is". I guess the only way to do it is to play the game, make the dumb ass choices, and make another character less the d.a. choices, and beat the game. There are sooo many skills and sooo many perks to choose from, that I just know that I'm scared to pick one, knowing that it may be used a lot in the game, or it may not be worth the pixels displaying it.

Well if you play as a female you can screw metzger for half of the cost for our dear vic. If you have in adittion a charisma if 6 or higher you can sell yourself to a bastard in the den for 200 bucks each turn.

My young padwanstudent, word of advice i have, west you must go, vault city next stop must be.

Two things. Firstly Qili, Vault City is on the far EAST of the map. Not the west.

Secondly, I had to pay for half the followers to actually follow me, but once I had their sorry asses in my hand I never had to shell out again. Is it a charisma thing? I usually bump Intelligence, charisma, and luck up, with a bit of Dex and Per for APs and targetting.

There is nothing wrong with the small guns skill!!

I beat the first fallout game with a 10mm pistol and spiked nuckles just to see if i could do it. After you beat this game once it becomes too easy, its a transformation, you just know the water chip is in -------- and you go there grab it, nab some big damn guns and go rape the dude.

Thats the other thing about fallout 2, the small guns skill is usefull because A) you have to wait longer for big/energy guns, unlike fallout 1, B) Gauss rifle, need i say more :D
