Well, I guess that's one to say that you think Morrigan is hot.

To plagiarize Leliana, I'd wade through her swamp.
Too bad Morrigan isn't into chicks as well. I'd have never left camp.

At first I was a fan of how Morrigan looked, however the moment she started spouting her opinion I had to say NO! I am thinking I like this bard chick, however it seems all chicks in this game have huge racks when they wear dresses.

Well, Morrigan was the only chick that supported my act of destroying Andrastes blood. The mage tried to kill me for it and Leliane left short after to investigate the happening.

Morrigan left me at the end though, baring my child.

    Still looking for that bitch.

I played through as a female city elf the first time, so I let Alistair father her child. Then I decided she wasn't worth my time, and became Alistair's general or something.

I thought Leliana and Morrigan were good looking for female party characters... though I wanted to throw Leliana out a window.

I just laid like a 16 inch shit. The thing was absolutely enormous.

So I burned through Awakening last week, was kind of disappointed to be completely honest. None of the new companions really stood out, I just didn't care about their story. All except for Anders though, he should of been in Origins and replaced one of the useless mages *cough* Wynne *cough*.

Still haven't had the money to pick up a copy yet :(

I think I'm going to play through DA:O one more time before I do though.

My house mate rushed out and bought it the day it came out, he completed it twice and then lent it to me the next day. In origins I took my time with things, explored areas slowly, with Awakening, I knew I was overpowered and bad ass so I just ran into groups of enemies going nuts. Mind you I think having the mod where you wear Duncan's armor made me feel invincible though.

Shoot me down for replying to an 'old' thread that's still on the first page, but I just finished awakening and found it a bit of a disapointment.

Characters weren't so bad (certainly not as interesting as origins though), however the whole thing was lacking in a lot of content and overall was pretty impersonal. Found it slightly annoying how every old specilisation was already unlocked (even the ones you had to work for, such as Arcane Warrior/Bloodmage) and how the two new specs for each class can be unlocked by buying manuals from just about any shopkeeper.

A lot of the sidequests are poorly done as well, if you're ever looking for anyone they're always in amaranthine and any of the other side areas are basically a 20 foot circle consisting of the 'bad guys' and you. Majority of the time you have no choice but to fight anyway...

Some of the text at the ending was interesting, though. Mind you, I was slightly miffed that I didn't even get a say in whether some random rogue was able to steal my sword - like my character would just let them wander in and steal it for fuck's sake. There wasn't enough cross-dialogue between party members given the number of points they'd strike up a conversation on each map as well.

Probably the worst part was how ridiculously easy it was - I felt the same way about the final battle in Origins, but it reached the point where I was able to solo the huge fuck-off lightning dragon in the blackmarsh as a mage without any trouble what so ever. Running around with 85% in every resistance (why'd they increase it from 75% in origins, anyway?) with 50 armor, ~120 defense, mental/physical checks around 150 and spellpower of 130/160 (sword/staff) killed any sort of difficulty curve that might have existed had I started a new character.

In short, if you don't have it yet, I wouldn't bother. It's honestly not worth the trouble and it sort of ruined the original for me.

I haven't had a chance to play awakening yet. Has anyone tried the new DLC where you get to play as the darkspawn?

I haven't had the opportunity to muck around with downloadable content thanks to my bitch of a network and the fact that our host computer is a bit borked right now...

I though Awakenings had a great plot and some very interesting characters... but it was way, way too short. Everything was too rushed, and I literally managed to finish it in a single day, only taking a break to go attend a class. It was WAY too expensive for how little content was actually there.

If they'd stretched it out, and maybe made allowances for the Warden reforming Oghren a little, I would have been very happy indeed. In actuality, I was mostly just sad.

My biggest letdown was when it honestly looked like you were gonna get to fight three Broodmothers at once - HELL FUCK YES! - and you ended up killing them without any effort at all. I was right pissed.

From what I hear, the darkspawn chronicles is very, very short. It looks to me like it's based entirely in the final battle at Denerim. Sorta boring, in my opinion.

The item DLC's are pretty pointless - most of the items just get dumped on you at the start of the game which is a little OP; there is a free mod out there that gives you copies of practically all the items with the same stats but requires that you buy them from the merchant in camp which isn't so bad.
Mind you, one DLC I did like was Shale. It integrates very well with the main story and the character itself is very versatile. I haven't got return to ostagar yet which is meant to be decent as well.

Agreed, Xiao. The fact that you could run right past the tentacles and only had to remove two chain links to kill them was pretty pathetic. I guess they figured the boss fight with the disciple and inferno golem just before was enough. Yet another fight I finished without any party members....

Another annoying thing is the sheer amount of gold dumped on you. In origins, you had to be careful what you spent coinage on as it was very finite (unless you went the potent lyrium potion route) - in awakening you'll get so many sovereigns that even after all the upgrades you'll have more than you know what to do with.

I know I'm rambling now, but honestly, I wouldn't bother paying for it magikot. Borrow it off of a friend if you must play it, the story is still all there and fairly interesting there are just *a lot* of other flaws.

Yep, glad I borrowed it off my housemate, as for the characters, I enjoyed the new mage (probably should of been in the first to be honest). I didn't like the fact that how you chose to end the original didn't really impact the expansion at all. I also didn't like the fact I'm rolling with my team then a new character appears and you have to let them join your party in order to join your cause. I chose the deeproads or whatever it was called (its been so long) last, meaning some retarded dwarf female was there, I instantly knew I did not want anything to do with a dwarf let alone a female one. Ohgren was bad enough the twat.

Odd. I thought Sigrun was one of the stronger new characters, it was the damn elf mage who I could have done without.

I do agree on the subject of Anders, though. I'd have liked to see more of him and Ser Pounce-a-Lot *giggle*.

I actually spent an hour or so looking for a way to dismember sir pounce-a-lot, convinced that he was the only source of catgut in the game. Ironic that you end up finding it on a dog.

Sigurn reminded me of leliana; stuck up, selfish little prat that I only took a long so they'd shut up, I honestly don't know why they needed a legion of the dead member anyway. Atleast sigurn doesn't have a fucking lithp.
The elf mage I didn't mind so much but I was a little annoyed how shit she was magic-wise after the dramatic cutscenes. Both Justice and the Howe were nice touches I thought.

To be honest, I never picked up Winne (killed her in the tower I think) but yeah, Anders along with an apostate origin *should* have been in the original. Did anyone else find it strange how Anders burns the darkspawn/templars and yet doesn't have any fire spells what so ever?

You know what Charonte? My housemate and I were talking about that very same thing last night. Looked like a cool spell to have. Then he is all like "It wasn't me".

I don't know if it was patched or not, but in Redcliffe you can get infinite money from bella the bartender. Here's a video of how.

Glad we have something in common, also thought it was irritating how he never clarified on turning the templars into crispies throughout the entire campaign. If he didn't kill them he *at the least* didn't even attempt to save them either, least he could do was fucking own up to it. Anders still is, however, completely awesome. Would glady sit through another playthrough of awakening if only to hear more party banter.

But no, I didn't know that magikot. I've always left redcliffe to it's own fate so far, but I'm not surprised there's more than one exploit. The ingredients to make one potent lyrium potion is actually slightly less than the amount you get from selling one. Selling a stack of 99 gives you a net income of 22 sovereigns IIRC, even more if you go the dwarf noble route and use the appropriate merchant,

One thing about the Anders/Templars situation that seems obvious to me but that most people never comment on.

Anders couldn't use his magic to save the Templars. He was an apostate and they'd be constantly suppressing his magic, even as they fought the darkspawn. It's what they were trained to do. I like to think Anders would have helped them if he could, but with his ability to use magic being blocked, there really wasn't much he could do.

I swear, if it had been possible to romance him, my mage would have been all over him and then some. I adore a good sense of humour.
