Okay, so I wanted to edit Virgil to give him a slightly less useless set of skills but for some reason no matter how many fresh downloads I make I keep getting the following:

    Code:
Component 'MSCOMCT2.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid

Is this the Character Editor 1.8?
If so you A) need to copy all the OCX and DLLs into your Windows/System folder or B) "run command under the start menu and
    type Regsvr32 C:\windows\system\msstdfmt.dll " stolen from the Readme :)

Option B is what I had to do to get the editor up and running

Sorry that seems to be a Vista issue.

    I have 0 experience with it :(

It doesn't really matter I just like to take away Virgil's lockpicking points and put them elsewhere as well as a few other minor changes.

It'sn't a vista issue. I've Vista Ultimate, and can run both Arcanum and CE 1.8 fine. Did you register all the files? If memory serves, you've to register each file. I can't quite remember what exactly I mean by register. But I think you had to do that. :)

    Problem Solved

User Access Control was blocking the files from properly registering, just turn off UAC and you can install it with no issues.

Sorry for bringing this up again but I am also trying to get this to work.

I have given myself admin prev. (turned off the UAC)
ran all the prompts for registering the dlls
But I now get a new error which I think is special to Windows 7
Anyways I'm having the hardest time getting this to work.
Could someone who has gone through this give me a step by step walkthrough.

I have the files in my Windows/System file already, just need some hand holding is all.

    Thank you.
