Comming from the guy who plans to kill enough innocent people so you can rest a throne high up on all of the piled up bodies......

I've seen fingers go through those things, but a head would be hard. Now, a bandsaw on the other hand.

And yes Tel, I do plan on building a heap of bloody corpses and putting my throne on top, but that comes under both the retribution and ugly rule. Besides, I'd have to use twice as many kids as adults and thats work that I'm just to lazy to do.

If it wasn't hard, it wouldn't be fun.

Well when Ever a guy loses a finger in that thing at work, someone get the fun job of going through the food he was preparing and finding the pieces of flesh so they can be sent to hospital and hopefully reattached.

You should be wearing chain-mail gloves around those things. They're really cheap to make.

I had a shop teacher who'd lost a finger while wearing leather gloves while cutting wood on a bandsaw... The glove got caught in the saw and thats what RIPPED his finger off! Otherwise, he'd have pulled his hand away in time and probably just needed stitches. Now chain-mail on the other hand....

Now wait, when someone loses a finger at work, you guys dig through food looking for it ... what happens to the food? Does it still get served?....

Eh...Deli Slicers aren't supposed to be serrated. If it's got a serrated blade, it's time to replace something. Where I work, every guy in the meat department has a set of chainmail gloves that they wear while using knives or the slicer. No one has lost a single finger since they implemented the gloves.
And about the food...Yeah most places should either discard the contaminated meats or use them to feed certain types of livestock or zoo animals.

No, we throw out the food. The thing is I work in a kitchen and as such whoever is using the slicer rotates all day, depending on what you happen to be doing. And you have to buy your own equipment, so no one is willing to buy a chain mail glove when they can go weeks without having to use the thing.

Not using one before, do they have the ability for you to lose a finger or more like a chunk of flesh if you slip?
I mean to cut through the bone....

When a deli slicer cuts off a finger, it doesn't go through the bone. It slices the tendons that connect your finger bones together. I mean, with sufficient force shoving your hand through the slicer, yeah it'll go through the bone, but the blade will be wrecked.

It depends if you have the safety guards on too. A lot of accidents occur when people don't use them so they can get thinner cuts.

So in other words it would not be smart to plan an experiment to put my finger through and see if it will slice through the bone in my finger?

Yeah that sounds like a safe bet. I mean, you could get a deli slicer and take a similarly sized bone from another source to see if it will cut through.

The Chefs at work have always said that if a body part starts to bleed, just cut it off and you won't have to worry about it bleeding anymore.
