i've only played one text based game and that was the hitchiker's guide to the galaxy game. that was probably the hardest game i ever played. it kinda makes me think that as games become flashier and more commercialized, they also get a hell of a lot easier.

anyone ever play the space quest series? now those were some hard games. king's quest, monkey island, loom. all really great, crappy looking, hella hard games.

6 years actually and it's still a lifeless, empty void.

It's an awesome concept, and beautiful graphics, but a horrible story with lousy gameplay.

I always thought morrowind was a poor action rpg.

    Gothic was tons better..

Personally i got very addicted to it, even though it was nothing like fallout, the feeling that "now i'm going to "that" precise point on the map" and then dooing it, and when i got there i could find a cave with a very rare and valubale blade in it or something.

I hated their custom weapon stuff. It was just done horribly, although, as with alot of things, the concept was a good one.

I mean, soul gems are a great idea, but how you can 'overchange' your weapon to make it break is annoying and stupid. Furthermore, they could have had better effects for enchanted weapons.

THHGTTG is the greatest text-based RPG ever made...

You have to know the correct keyword to type in to have the program read in the correct file name. Text game came from the early mainframe computer where you have to guess the correct secert file name to get than weapon to defeat the orc in the room.

Yeah, for once I agree with xento - great concept, but poor execution was what really screwed Morrowind up.

    Settler, don't you remember?
    At the end they apologized,
there was a causal relationship between those events.

    Agreed.

The Babelfish puzzle is one of the best in adventure game history.

We donot really have the game out to say anything about how it will worked or run. It might come out as the most perfect game ever make and the greaster fallout game ever make.

It may, but the biggest problem with making a sequel to a popular game, especially when the first game(s) were of high quality, and there are a lot of existing fans that have waited for a sequel for years, even if the sequel turns out ot be revolutionary, if it doesn't remind the hardcore fans of the originals, chances are they won't accept it.

Well, I've heard good things about that latest Star Wars game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. I mean, Somethingawful.com gave it a good review; it HAS to be good.

KotOR is a good game. Probably one of the best I've played in a while.

Plus Interplay needed money to stay in bussien and they stold the Fallout to this comany for money. Nothing wrong there as Interplay is alway on the edge of going out of bussien. Makeing cut edge games cost alot of money than have alower rate of return compare to some games in which there is no cuting edge taken place.
