Gnomes get a bonus on bad reactions. Is that good or bad? How does it break down? Bonus on bad, negative on bad, bonus on good, negative on good. Is a bonus on bad the same as a negative on good? Or are both bonuses good things (or bad things)? I'm confused.
It essentially means that people like them more. There's even a glitch (could be fixed in one of the patches) where beggars start loving the gnome the more they get insulted.
Bonus to a good reaction means that you get the good reaction increase plus a bonus. "Good evening, sir. Please accept this gift." Reaction +10 If your character has a good reaction bonus of 5: "Good evening, sir. Please accept this gift." Reaction +15 "You, sirrah, are nothing but a blackguard!" Reaction -10 If your character has a bad reaction bonus of 5: "You, sirrah, are nothing but a blackguard!" Reaction -5 So basically a penalty will always make the reaction change number more negative and a bonus will always make it more positive. Gnomes get a +10 bad reaction bonus. If you insult a beggar the reaction change is -4 or -8 (depending on how you insult them). So a gnome gets a reaction change of -8 + 10 = total change of +2. Therefore beggars like gnomes more and more after every insult. A silly little oversight really. I suppose I could set the beggar reaction change to -10 to stop gnomes getting any increase from them.
