Well, I know that it's kinda working, but I think it's running off of the AWIP1, not 2. Because I see the new portraits and backgrounds, but the world map still has all the locations and there arent 2 wine bottles.

Did you rename (ex: xArcanum5.dat) or delete the folders from AWIP1?

Unless..... Are you using an old save to start?
I recently learned that small changes may not show up in an old save.
Also, the save would contain the data of all the locations being marked.

I think I deleted the old folders. What are the old folders called?

And no, I'm not using an old save.

Same as the new ones: Arcanum5.dat and Arcanum.patch1.

If you deleted the old ones prior to unpacking the AWIP2.exe, then you should not be having this problem.

Just to rule out a possibility - if you still have the download, delete the two folders mentioned above, unpack a fresh set from the .exe, move the patch1 into the Sierra/Arcanum/modules folder, and start the game.

Well, I re-downloaded it, and I think it may actually work now. I don't see 2 wine bottles, but the world map doesnt have all the locations anymore, and there are still the new backgrounds and stuff.

There's is one more (fairly) quick way to tell what version you're playing.
In Shrouded Hills, just before and slightly south of the new bridge materials is a shabby hobbit-hole I neglected to delete.

    No.
When you get to town, go to the east side of the inn, and look around in the open area between the inn and the river.

Well, I guess it hasn't been working this whole time, then :(
I don't see the hole anywhere, either. And when I got to Tarant I didn't see the atlas in the Library...

If that's true, then I don't quite get why I don't have all the areas on my world map :/

You are unpacking a .exe file to get the folders aren't you? Or is it a zip file?

I'm at a complete loss for any other explaination.

Having read what's happening with Doomsday -
Look on your computer and tell me -

    1) What is the name of the exe you got from the link in this thread

    and

    2) what is the size of the file?

What you've got is about 3.6 mb too big and should not have the (2) in the name.

Get rid of it and do a direct download from the link into your Sierra/Arcanum folder.
The correct size (unpacked .exe) is 75.2 mb.

BTW: Exactly how are you doing these downloads?
This is twice that I know of that you've gotten enlarged and renamed files.

Actually, I don't think there is a problem with the file sizes.
    78 883 234 bytes = 75.2289143 megabytes
    and
    45 339 063 bytes = 44 276.4287 kilobytes

What's confusing me is the fact that Spiffy's computer seems to be renaming the files when he downloads them, but doesn't do so consistently. On one, it adds "(2)" and on the other "-2"

UGH... I did what you said and downloaded it directly to the Arcanum folder this time and suprisingly it didn't have a -2 or (2) after it. So I extracted it and moved the patch1 folder to the modules folder and when I started a new game I still don't see the wine bottes!!!!!!!!!!!! :-x

So, considering you haven't answered in a week, I'll take that as I can't fix it? :(

Spiffy, I'm sorry for not getting back to you but I must admit, I have no idea how to solve your install problem.

    Let's assess:
    1) We've done everything but replace your computer, and it still won't work.
    2) But - You've gotten Quaid's mod to work with your current install.
    3) I've encountered several problems on my end which I can only hope began after this release - and that hope is fading.

For you - regrettably - I'd have to say just delete this copy and try again on the next release.

I've began another play-through to see what other problems are going to happen. When this debug is finished, I'll compress everything and submit it as an upgraded version. A:WIP v_2.1 or some such.
Maybe your machine is picky enough that it needs the packed DATs to work.
I've heard of stranger things. :)
