One thing I noticed. The bow guards in Dernholm were just standing by their beds when they should have been walking around town. I am not sure of the time they start patrol, but even if they were supposed to be sleeping when I went in, they should have been in bed and unable to talk.

Wasteland: It seems the problem is on your end, as I just checked both the packed and unpacked versions in-game. In both cases the guards behaved as they are supposed to.

FourHorsemen: I'd be going with the original idea for the Morlocks - less scripting for starters.

Exactly and - I should be able to work in a reference or two of the wrecked sub into the story. Perhaps a survivor made his way to the mining and processing town in this valley and told of the cataclysm. From there, everything went downhill.

    This could get complicated....

BTW: NO! on the Planet of the Apes! That's where I draw the line! :p

But you'll surely include the Yeti, right?

Alright, even after a reinstall, still the same problem. WIP4.0 and all is well even the dock merchant had dialoge in WIP4.0.

Any chance you could re upload WIP4.2 again seeing that your version seems to work ok?

A fresh upload - with the corrections - is in progress but it'll take a while.
I'll PM you with the link.

It would seem that the upload will have to wait until after the weekend as my IP provider is working on their system.

About every 30 minutes or so, I loose the connection. :/

    Hang tight.

Rroyo many thanks for the files.
I'm afraid I have rather disapointing new though. The Vormat people still do not have any dialoge options.

Now I went to see which file seems to be responcable for this and it seems the Arcanum5.dat it causing it.

Using Arcanum5.dat file from WIP4.0 with the Arcanum.patch1 from WIP4.3 (lets call it that) together enables the dialoge options again (even the dock merc.)

Arcanum5.dat has a size of 17.442 KB in WIP4.2 and WIP4.3 while is has a size of 17.450 in WIP4.0. Did you do any changes to this file?

I have the feeling that Arcanum5.dat has been corrupted after WIP4.0?

What are you thaughts on this Rroyo?

    EDIT: corrected WIP4.2 and WIP4.3

The only way I ever had something even close to this happen was when I was using an out-dated save.
I'll admit, I've never done the mix & match of DATs like you, but when I went back to an area where I had changed scenery or clothing after saving, then the original situation would come up.

I really don't know what you've got going on.

WIP2.2 and WIP2.3? Assuming you meant 4.2 and 4.3 - Yep - did some house cleaning and got rid of few things that weren't being used.

So far, you're the only one who's had this problem......

damn. I thaught I nailed the problem.

Guess I have to try something difrent now. Tonight I will try this on my laptop and check if it work correctly on that system. I did a reistall, WIP4.0 works correctly and WIP4.2 fails... I have no clue what the problem is either.

Thanks for a nice mod, now I can play Arcanum as if it was a new gane once more. Anyway seems like I have encountered a bug in the added places...So far I have only visited Vormantown and Brandybucks. However, whenever I leave one of those sites and return later it seems as if the shopkeepers wares has been depleted and there is nothing for sale anymore.

    Welcome to the forum, Apicius!

Exploring new things is fun, isn't it?

As for your problem, it's been a while since anyone has mentioned this happening. Regretfully, I'm pretty sure it's part of a bad install.

Go ahead and finish playing this round with the shopkeeper problem in mind, but for the next time, do a fresh install.

BTW: Double-check the Lynchbany and Plainwicke merchants to see if they are giving you the same grief. Save before you leave the area, then exit the town, return, and talk to them again.

Thanks, well I guess I'll have to be satisfied with what I can shop in the rest of the world, and make sure that I'll stock up with money the next time I visit a new site, I will check the places you mentioned.

Must have happened something during installation - though I did uninstall anything old.

Anyway, thanks for a god mod.

Alright it seems I got it up and running correctly.
There was still a leftover files within the rules folder. (from my editing purpose). The AntiTeleport.mes file was messing things up...

Sorry to have troubled with this Rroyo, I'm very thankfull for trying to help me!

Just a note to Rroyo. In the plantation on Cattan I went through the spider quest as a single prowl/bow master and killed off the last spider without talking to her. I did not get the quest completed in the logbook and the halflings dialog stays like it wasn't complete. There should be a condition to complete quest added for just killing her.

Hey Rroyo! Thanks for answering the questions! I've played through to the point where you have to go to TUlla to find the Vendigroth and thus far here a few of the minor things I've noticed.

Now i did a very clean install from scratch to add 4.2, so I'm not sure how much of this comes from the mod or the base game:

    1) Whenever I try to search the body of the dead ogre in the Caladon Sewers, I believe it's the one wit the boots of the Dark Toll, the game crashes. Tried it several times. And a funny thing happened when I used "unseen force" on the body, it actually created a "copy" of the body, which also crashed the game when I searched it.

    2) At one point in the game, everything went completely black. If you traveleld with World Map or teleport, they still stayed that way. Saving and reloading seemed to solve the problem.

    3) When you try to teleport from Acceterak's Tomb, the World Map shows a position on the "fringe" of the map...like the edge of the paper, is that on purpose?

    4) If you enter the Dernholm Pits and make your way to Tollo Underhill, his dialogue and the players brings up Kan Hua, regardless of whether you bumped into him or not during your game.

    5) THe Pawn Shop in Tarant, it only sold the Anti-Grav gems ONCE. Then never again. Is that on puprose, or is it merely random?

    6) IN the Bond Residence....I only found a Half Ogre...but nobody else like it says in the book you added.

    --------

    A few comments though:

    - LOVED the Fire King section. Bloody awesome stuff!

    - Not sure what Mrs. Owens is supposed to do in the game.

    - NOt sure what the deal is with teh two theieves in eth Tarant sewers....frankly I can't recall if they were originally there to begin with :p

    - How do you get to Cattan in this version? Your previous version shows all the map points, so it was easy to explore and look for new things.

    Great Work once again!

    Hey Rroyo,

In the effects map it is written that the amulet of leadership is supposed to give the wielde +1 followers *2 reaction modifier which does not work as there is not decrease or increase of the reaction modifier when wielding it..

Also fighting pete stringy didn't felt right. It seems the had a decrease in power? (no melee skill at all anymore)

I still love that the perment domination trick still works and that the teleport staff still has an infinite amount of uses.

FourHorsemen - You're not going to like this - but I'm positive you have a bad install.
None of the things you had go wrong should have happened.

    As for the rest:

    Glad you liked it. :)

It's a running joke - now you know why the constable never goes home!

    They were.

There's two ways - Talk to Virgil. He has the map-marking cheat. Afterwards, you can teleport there.
Or, go to Brandybuck, cut across the big field, make a left like you are going to Frigo's, but talk to the two people in the place just before his. That'll set the first flags so you can then go to the burned-out place and talk to the man and woman there. That'll set the flags for travel to Norleigh and get Plainwicke marked - if you agree to look for the son. Otherwise Plainwicke will pop-up.

Oracle - just noticed your post and I'll check them out when I get home.
