    your a legend man youve completly revived my love for this game. i am just starting to learn the mod programs though are you accepting content from fellow users such as items maybe even artwork?

    Thank you, captin! It's always nice to hear that I've helped in some way.

    To answer your question, I'm always on the look-out for something unique but looks like it belongs in the game.
    Case in point: theorel recently created a proto so I could add a steam-punk Tesla pistol. (Works great!)

    So, yes I am, and I'd be interested in seeing what you've created.

    The picture in my last post has the master lock picking tools in it (I think they are called J T Morran's master lockpicking tools) that are used for the lockpick mastery quest. However you can't actually use them to pick locks.

    The crude lockpicks let you pick locks, then the regular lockpicks give you a 5% extra chance and then the skeleton key gives you an extra 10% (I think, been a while since I made one) so could the master tools be the next step in the chain and be used to pick locks with a 15% extra chance?

    It sounds possible. At the moment I have no idea if altering the toolkit in WorldEd would be enough or if you'd need to hack the proto.

    I'll have to check this out.

    Next problem.

    I won the Gypsy Shadow back by gambling for it but even though the dialogue says I have the ship if I try and use it I get the 'Wheel won't turn even the slightest bit' response.

    The general merchant in Vormantown won't do anything no matter how many times I click on him he won't initiate a conversation.

    Sorry guy, I can't reproduce either of your errors.

    Packed game, hacked save, and flag-setting cheat - I had no trouble talking to the merchant - and using the ship.

    If you can replay the scene with Killian, use the DrogsCleanCache.bat and fire up an earlier save. This should help.

    I'm not sure why you're having a problem the the Vormantown merchant.
    If you're feeling adventurous, start a new game just long enough to get to Vormantown and see if it still happens. If it is, pull the cheats from the data folder and try one more time.

    I'll do that for you but it'll have to wait until I get the time, probably the weekend after next.

    Also, I should be able to post your item tomorrow if all goes to plan, I have to fill out customs declarations so it takes longer than my usual stop in, grab ebay packages and run approach.

    In the meantime -

    Everyone: I need a name!

    Since the UAP corrects the flaw with the Dark Helm, I've decided to add one - with the original buggy scripts - to the Well of Lost Souls.
    Everyone's second favorite dirty trick will be available again.

    This will need a suitably sinister name to keep it from being confused with the other Dark Helms, so put your thinking caps on!

    I'll start with Helm of Lost Soul.
    (even I think this one's lame...)

    The helm of THE Dark Elf, the one from which all the other dark elves came. Also known to frequent obscure internet forums.

    Doesn't sound too convincing; it's way too obvious you're referring to someone.

    Try giving the character another name (I'm pretty sure DE has another nickname; an IRL name is also appropriate), and write a nice piece of literature telling his fictional history, where he is referred as The Dark Elf. One of the first dark elves, perhaps?

    Curious if there's been any more thoughts on adding Krupp's balance mod to AWIP. I installed the all in one patch yesterday on top of AWIP but didn't get time to actually play it more then 2 minutes.

    Item # 3 I did this morning was to reinstall Krupps' Ranged Weapons mod 12.

    (Checking the rescripting of a Dark Helm was the 6th.)

    Frigo: Now that I've had a few minutes to think about it, you may be right. I'll think of something suitable for DE.
