    FourHorsemen: In order -

    1) Actually, given the sheer amount of diamonds that can be had in the game, I hadn't given any thought to creating new ones - even from coal.
I am keeping my eye open for a logical way to use coal in a schematic but nothing's caught my attention yet.

    2) This hadn't occured to me because I'd need a new proto to make it work. I'll keep my eye open for something - something besides rubies that is!

    3) A living one? Not anytime soon. There is an adventure I'd like to add that does need a dwarven clan that's unrelated (story-wise) to Arcanum's, but the adventure promises to be global and local flag intensive and might have to be left out due to the lack of available slots.

    Gato: What wayne-scales said.

I've been playing the mod for a few days now, and I've just encountered a rather vexing problem. I can't find the Bedokaan Village. It's not where it's supposed to be. I've checked and rechecked the coordinates (though you might be interested to know that it isn't listed in the atlas in the library) and it won't appear on my map. I even went to the grid where it should have been, and that's where another strange thing happened: Instead of standard swamp ambience, I was hearing a rooster crowing and townsfolk murmering, but no village in sight.

I even went to the poachers camp, thinking that maybe I had to recieve a quest from there or something, but there were no poachers, just an empty camp. I assume that's because I need that quest from the bedokaans?

You're not going to like this but something's glitching that area for you.

I just did a packed-version teleport and other than no Bedokaans (the flag wasn't set for them to turn on) everything was as it should be. Sounds and sights.

A double-check with WorldEd on the unpacked version confirmed the critters are there and the sound schemes are in place.

Talk to Virgil and have him mark your map with the original locations. If that don't bring the location up, I'd suggest a re-install.

BTW: The Bedokaan Village won't pop up by passing by. You have to accept the quest to get it marked.

The Poachers Camp is empty until one of the flags is set for dealing with the poachers - good, bad, or otherwise.

And yes, I did indeed overlook the Bedokaans in the Atlas. Thanks for telling me.

Okay, I just got all the locations from Virgil, and the village is there. There are no Bedokaans in it, but the altar is there, and that's really all I'm concerned about at the moment. Thanks.

Just a minor issue: The halfling archeologist in Caladon is described as a "half-ogre guard" on my computer.

I'm not sure what's going on with your copy, Wolfsbane.
I reset that listing for the 4.0 release and a WorldEd check (unpacked) showed it's still good with the 4.4.

    From the OP:
    19) Reset description of Hadrian from Half-ogre guard to gnome priest.

Have you encounted any other oddly named critters or items?

Glad to hear it. Let's hope that your only glitch.

Everyone: I'm looking for feedback on the remodeled Well of Lost Souls.

It it too hard, too easy, not enough monsters, not enough "set-backs"?

    I'd really like to know.

I really like the new version, BUT, there should be at least some kind of cool treasure in the end. Maybe a rare, cursed item.

Well I am new to this forum but ive been playing Arcanum for quite a few years now... In my opinion this is one of the best Rpgs ever made, and the A:WIP add-on makes it still more interesting!!
Great Work rroyo!!! Thanks for keeping this game alive!!!

So, have you ever thought of going into the Arcanum demo and taking a look at any unimplemented art or features? For example, I believe:

    - the splash screen in the demo was not used.
    - gorgoth had a different portrait
    - tollo had a different portrait
    - waromon had a different portrait
    - half-orc female art 2 and 4 is not used
    - half-ogre male art 2 is not used
    - half-elf male art 2 is not used
    - half-elf female art 2 is not used

Maybe you should check it out and see what you can find.

The splash: Actually, I haven't. For starters, I don't have a copy of the Arcanum demo.

The portraits: All the non-specific portraits I've been able to find have been added to A:WIP. The half-elf portrait is being used for Faithe.

Also, I have seen the NPC specific portraits you mentioned, but didn't like them enough to change the stock ones.

Well, regarding the normal portraits I suggested, perhaps they could be added as extra portraits on top of the race?

    And this is the splash.

Thanks for the splash. I'm not sure if I'll use it because I like the cleaner look of the stock one, but I might change my mind.
At the moment, A:WIP has six splashes - 2 tech, 2 magick, and 2 neutral - so I have no plans to add more.

The portraits: I think I've already added the ones you listed. Early on I raided the avatar section here at HoL and snagged everything I didn't see in the stock game. These were sorted out by race.

    Sorry for being so persistent.

But, I undat-ed your arcnaum5 and noticed you were using the small (hence pixelated) versions of only two portraits. I then undat-ed the original Arcanum and noticed the portraits were missing. Anyways, I just thought you'd be interested in seeing the missing portraits that (I believe) weren't included in the actual game.

Say rroyo due to the exe hack of Drog Black Tooth being able to add more effects can you than honor my request to add all of my mod in your AWIP? As you said they were all interresting, but you did want to keep some room due being able to have effects for your custom items.
