Do you believe that one-night stands are purely a male thing, then? I'd say there are a fair few ladies out there looking for casual sex. Are they encouraging men to be seen as sex objects?

On the porn thing, I kind of agree. I wouldn't mind if it was realistic, but it gives people such skewed views of how bodies should look and how sex should turn out. Many youngsters see a shedload of porn before they get to have sex, so there's a lot of room for warped perspective.

Well, I said women/men... And I never said I think "just casual sex" is right either...

I'm sorry, I don't follow you here. If both men and women are looking for one night stands (casual sex) every now and then, how is it encouraging anyone to view someone as just a sex object? Wouldn't that mean that if I play badminton with someone, we're encouraging each other to see us as nothing more than badminton partners? If I go out to a restaurant with someone are we being encouraged to view each other as just eating companions?

Surely objectification is a risk caused by the way you do something, rather than what you do. For instance, if you use a prositute for having sex, so may be in danger of seeing sex as a commodity. If you meet someone, form a brief attachment and have sex, you're treating them as a person.
