Well, one thing to consider is that the American criminal is the only bank robber to actually survive. I have no idea how that would affect your musings on what to do, but there you have it.

 

Pure alcohol has no taste, and therefore all alcohols in their purest state taste the same. If you were to drink pure methanol, and then suddenly grab some pure ethyl alcohol, you wouldn't be able to taste the difference. The only way you could tell, if the bottles of said containers weren't labeled, would be the side effects.
However, methanol probably has something added to it so you know you shouldn't drink it.

 

Or Mr Van Stran could be using the Swedish verb "smaka" in one of its many applications (taste, try, drink, eat, nibble or even the lesser-known "I'll cut you, bitch!") so we could use some elucidation here.
