Just one extra line in the script would be enough:
"If Player is prowling THEN return and run default".

I didn't consider it a bug at all. There are numerous instances in the game where NPCs initiate dialogs without checking if a PC is prowling or not.

    Yes.

If I don't have any strong evidence that something is a bug (wasn't intended), then I don't fix it. The UAP is a patch, not a mod.

Well since we're all sharing "combat" techniques...I usually like to play Tech-Throwers who specialize in Chemical and Explosives. This makes short work out of most enemies.

    - Knock-out Gas usually means "game over" for a lot of enemies. With it all you pretty much need is one point in melee to finish the job or have your followers do it for you.

    - Stun Grenades are reasonably cheap to make in large quantities, but puts more of an onus of having at least some melee.

    - Paralysis Grenades are oodles of fun and pretty much take the fun out of fighting as you cane pick through your targets at leisure.

    - I once tried becoming an "acid tosser" but that proves to be pretty dangerous as you needed a reasonably good distance from the target to avoid ruining your own gear. It's pretty funny though to reduce someone like Sir Garrick to their underwear though.

    - If you don't want to go the KO Gas way, there's always the Paralyzer, Anesthetizer to get the job done, only they only affect one target and you have to get in close.

My last run through the game was with a Tech Throwing/Melee/Dodge who specialized in Explosives, Electrical and Smithy. The only thing I truly regretted about his build was studying Explosives. I'd never made Dynamite before and thought it would be lots of fun, but it's just so much hassle to find the right ingredients (esp. the nitro) that I ended up making perhaps 6 pieces of Dynamite. Also: most grenades are kind of meh. Molotovs, on the other hand, are very easy to make (rags in abundance, one might say), and they are awesome in combat throughout the entire game (in my experience). As far as Explosives are concerned, next time I play with a Tech character I'll limit myself to the Molotov schematic and invest one (maybe two) points in Throwing Apprentice. One point is probably enough since I only use Molotovs when it's getting too crowded around me and I desperatly need to push this or that critter a few tiles into the background.
Stun Grenades are nice during early game when you still can't hold your own during the tougher fights, but in the long run they make combat even less entertaining than it already is and, well, that's just no fun. That can't be the point. They are mighty handy if you want to off Stingy Pete and his skeletal friends, though.

I think you can usually find Nitro in the Inventor shops in Tarant or Black Root...although Dynamite isn't the greatest thing in the world to rig to kill others...unless there's an object nearby that you canstick it on that's close enough to your targets.

Sometimes just for a laugh I use Plastique...problem is that you have to set it down somewhere and then use the detonator...and a lot of the times your target will pick it up as if it was treasure :p

It needs to be capable of detonation even if it's in someone's inventory. And yeah, plastique is one of the most fun inventions. Regardless of the fact that there are more powerful items, there's something really fun about luring an enemy that is far more powerful than you into a corridor filled with plastique and detonating it.

Oh hell yeah...it's quite awesome alright....a great place to do it in crowds:

    - The Guards during the orc uprising

    - The crowd in the Ashbury mayors hall

    - The crowd for the Caldon negotiations

    - The bandit orcs in the world travel map :p

hmm...probably the most fun i've ever had would be playing a straight thief, and grabbing the tech spec: explosives.
put all points into dex, Sneak and pick pocket, Master, Then plant explosives on everything and everyone, and (litterally) watch Fireworks fly.
