Economies usually have something of a pyramid shape. It works pretty much like a food chain; the base is composed of grass and vegetables and other greenery, the mid section of insects and herbivores and in the narrow peak you find carnivores. Just like the ecosystem cannot sustain an infinte number of carnivores, human economies cannot exist with an infinte number of Bill Gates'. That's just the way things work. It's a relative issue though. At least in the Western world, technical achievemtns have raised the bar for what constitues the base and peak of the economy quite considerably (a janitor of today is much better off than nobility was in 1400 AD). As long as the people who constitute the base of the economy can afford such necessities as food and housing it's pretty much well and good. In those parts of the world they don't, it's usually due to some kind of mismanagement or another.
