    Any ideas as to how to capitalize on this? It seems like you'd be best off building a large hit squad that all uses the same skills (IE Melee or Shooting or whatever) and training everyone up to make use of the bonuses from the education.

    Yup. This works best with melee/dodge and a few of the big hitters like Sogg and Chukka. Making them experts with pyrotechnic axes is pretty much all the damage/turn you'll ever need.

    But it gains mastery by itself.
    At least in melee.

    Ooooooh, that's handy.

    I apologize, I've played Arcanum a number of times over the years but I never actually got around to completing it.


    I usually ended up with Alt-itis and made a bunch of new characters. :lol:

    All monster/undead/mech critters get Melee training automatically. They don't even need to put any points into it! They get skill levels based on their DX and training based on their level (IIRC they hit Master at level 30).

    Oooh, ow. Okay, too bad we can't recruit more of them I suppose.

    You can make an unlimited number of automatons actually, although they don't level up they are melee experts already and reasonably strong even at the end of the game.

    I acquired one or built one somehow once and it did fine.

    Very nice. I remember they weren't working when the game first game out. I was really disappointed about that hehe.

    Like several others, I didn't actually complete the game for years after owning it, so needless to say, I experienced the healing bots well after the release of the game. Whatever was broken about the bots were likely fixed in patches, whether they be offical or the product of Drog.

    Probably fixed by Drog.

    "We can't fail. We're on a mission from Drog."


    But yeah, you guys seem to have fixed everything and then added in a ton of stuff. Really awesome.

    Actually, Drog didn't add anything.
    Everything, which "added", was already present in game files, but somehow didn't reach final release (mostly because of time restraints).

    Well~ It wasn't there in the original game. So even if he didn't create the content, he still added it ^^

    On another note, thank you everyone for the help and advice. It's made getting back into the game a lot easier. And not just in my thread, but overall. I found the answers to quite a few questions just searching and reading things.

    FYI:

    Healing bots. The medical arachnid works like a treat. It's super-effective.
    The WIP or UAP includes a medical-decoy schematic ('clockwork physician'?).

    Unlimited monsters. Search meta-abuse and supermegameta-abuse, if you dare.

    Wow. Now that was interesting.

    Anyone else find it unusual that the Meta Spell School is the one you use to break the game? That's probably the most meta thing I've ever heard. XD
