I haven't heard of any attempts on G. W. Bush's life, have you?? You seem to pay some attention to the goings-on in the world and I was thinking that you may have come across an assassination attempt or two. If not, why DON'T you think an attempt has been made?? The man has certainly made a lot of people angry and he's even been touring the Middle East if I'm not mistaken -- isn't it sort of fishy that NO ONE seems to have access to a long range rifle with scope, a decent vantage point, and a store of madness and grit sufficient to carry a plan through??

I invite everyone to reply to my questions but I felt that Charles might have some sort of "insider" take on the issue.

Is there a mod or a game to kill Bush?

You do realize that if he were to be assasinated, the exact opposite of the intended consequences would happen. Instead of people waking up and thinking, my, that Dubya wasn't a good president at all!, he would be a hero. So, I'm afraid that we have to stick it out.

gargob, I'm sure that somewhere on the Web there is one of those chintzy "put a cap in Bush's ass game" -- much like the ones that you see for Saddam Hussein.

I'm saddened to see that the "voting with bullets" option is pulling ahead, as I feel that the right to carry a gun is the right to be free. Certainly there would be people who would point to the dead president as a martyr, but I would like to think that they were in the minority and corruptive, corporate-pandering leches themselves.

It also saddens me that CharlesBHoff has been on earlier today and he didn't even deign to reply to my specially-targeted thread. I HAVE read several of his previous posts and I like to think that I am fairly fluent in CharlesBHoffian; I even agree with some of his views. I'd thought that this thread would really get him riled but I was, sadly, mistaken.

I fail to see what voting with bullets has to do with the right to bear arms. That would be more voting for bullets or somethin like that.

I agree. There is a clear difference between opposing the murder of the leader of a country and infringing on a person's right to bear arms.

I can see how you might not see the connection, but ponder this: if guns weren't so difficult to acquire here in the States and every male above the age of 18 was issued a nice rifle and trained in the army as to how to maintain and use it -- like, say, in Switzerland -- I'd think that there would be fewer corrupt politicians. Maybe those corrupt/deficient persons who were thinking of becoming political figures would reconsider upon finding that pretty much anyone could decide that their policies were wrongful or unjust and might put a bullet into their brain. Just maybe.

It is unfortunate that every government (failure) on this planet retains its power through the threat or use of force. If you yourself don't have the ability to exercise a counter-force then you are at the mercy of the person wielding the biggest stick. At least, those are my two thought-pennies.

Well guns really aren't that difficult to acquire. Might require a few days for all the paperwork, but it isn't all that difficult. Or if you just buy the gun from a friend or somethin it is that much easier. Also, if the government ever became too corupt the fact stands that we COULD fight back. A good deal of the civilian population does own a gun of some kind. Also, if we fought against the government, a large portion of the military would probably fight with us if the governement was indeed too corupt. The fact is that without the support of the people our government could not stand.

It is foolish to claim that guns kill and must be taken away. If there are no guns, then the murderers will use knives. If those are taken, clubs, fists, or anything. The gun isn't what kills, but the hand the pulls the trigger.

Not to mention the fact that if guns were made illegal, then the bad guys would still be able to get them off the street, black market, etc.

Yes you're right that is SO much more reasonable than actually bothering to insist that the politicians be held accountable to their constituents, I don't know why I even try to be civilized sometimes. Democracy by Lynch mob: the wave of the future!

I don't know where you're from (no I can't be bothered to look at your stated location, oh the effort....), but as others have said it certainly is a bit of a laugh that you think firearms are difficult to come by. Anyone with a fraction of a brain could obtain a gun and use it on the politicaian of their choice, it's really not that hard. Why, apart from the Prez himself security is remarkably lax for our leaders.... I remember a few years ago I went to a speech by Vice President Gore, and nobody even bothered to search me as I entered the building. Shocking.

    No wonder I don't have a gun...

And the point is how outragiously unfair it is that the hot guard guy didn't strip-search ya, right? ;)

Heck, if the hot guy guards didn't strip-search me, I would be driven mad and forced to shoot myself with the gun that I'm too stupid to obtain.

I'd agree with ya Xento, but the girls I know seem to find me hot so I don't know. I need to look around and see if I can find my report on the second amendment. It could fit right in with the gun issues of this thread.
