Hello there, people of the forums.

I'd just like to say Hi, I've been on these forums for a few days lurking and finally decided to join. unfortunately I only have Arcanum: Of steamwork and magick obscura. So you won't find me in the other sections. But perhaps one day I will be able to broaden my horizons, and be able to play the other games. (*COUGH* Pirated *COUGH*) But until then I'll stick to this and the Arcanum forum.

Before you ask, yes I've read the rules. I don't plan to put myself into a hole this soon. But I cannot predict what will go on in the future.

    So, greetings and salutations.

    ~Yllarius

Let's see, an introduction thread, open admission to future pirating of Troika games, misplaced optimism about fitting in, and a retarded anime sig.

    Nice.

    We have rules?

Well, I think he broke them. At least he was correct when he said we wouldn't find him in the other sections.

I will reserve judgement on the newbie until this question is answered:

    Male, or female?

But Philes, seriously. Who isn't a pirate these days? If Troika was still in the business of making money from their games, then I might have a problem with leeching funding away from a potential great game by pirating; but unfortunately, they're not. And who really wants to spend hours digging through bargain bins, or give their hard earned cash to some fag on ebay when they can much more conveniently download the game they desire from the comfort of their own home?

    How is that relevant?

Well, now that I'm here, I might as well leach off Yllarius's thread.

Heyo people. I'm GarmGarf and I have played Arcanum a few years ago, but recently, I was posting on Blizzard Entertainment's Diablo 3 forum, and it turns out that Leonard Boyarsky, one of the designers of Arcanum, is the lead world designer of Diablo 3. After acquiring this information, I get a bust of Arcanum ambition, so I searched around for my Arcanum CDs, which I haven't played in a hell of a long time. I started a game, and then a Googled for a patch, and I ended up finding these forums.

Yeah, I was so fucking excited when I learned about Leonard being one of the big guys for Diablo 3.

    On topic: Welcome!

Also, are there any females on this forum? :???:

I'd have no qualms about running off another dude, but the forums are sorely lacking female influence. So it's relevant.

I even composed an appreciation thread for Boyarsky in Blizzard's forums, if it grabs your interest:

    http://www.battle.net/forums/thread.asp ... post332352

Not exactly sure who that is directed to, but if it was me, thanks! :D

That's really an unfortunate thing about gaming forums; the gender ratio isn't a nice balanced one. :(

    Edit:

What do you mean by "running off"?

I'm beginning to suspect that Yllarius reregistered as GarmGarf after Philes clowned on his sig. After all, how often do we have two newbies present themselves for public scorn in as many days? That's pretty lame Larry. Pretty lame.

    IP's don't match.

Which logically points to the question, what kind of a twisted mind would hijack someone else's introduction thread?

I don't know, but there's something fishy about these guys.

    I'm watching you.

Who cares? This is the internet. Shut up and accept what may or mayn't be true.

Ylirus, Garfield, welcome to the forum. You're free to expect many things from us. Getting them usually involved boobs or money. Also, you shouldn't announce that you pirate things. Firstly, because it's against forum rules, and secondly, because it's just not wise. We've worked hard to keep this place from turning into a spam riddled, torrent-loaded, porn containing scumhole.

...ok, so we only stop torrent references, and we don't actually 'work.' Leave me alone.

Your eyes work like a charm, old man, Silvio's brain just doesn't handle input very well.

If I were an observer of this situation, I would probably agree with you, or at least accept a high probability of your accusation being correct.

Still, you have yet to answer my question regarding the term "running off".

Yeah, well about that, I didn't notice any "newbie board", and just in case there was, I decided to post in this thread, so I wouldn't be the one "making the mistake" if you understand what I mean.

Thanks for the welcome DarkFool, and your visual perception is correct, rroyo.
