I've just left Shrouded Hills and have arrived at Tarant. I want to go to Dernholm to get Jayna and by that point return to Tarant and get Magnus. The only problem is that I can't actually see Dernholm even when I move near it. Is it because its too early or am I in the wrong area? Is it near the Wolf Cave or majorly below?

My other question is about boosting Charisma for a mild Techie. I know that the Jewel of Hebe gets me +1, Geshtianna's blessing gets me +1, but what else? Basically I have Charisma 9 and I want to boost it to 12 so that I get 3 Ranks in Persuasion and expertise in Persuasion for the extra two followers. I don't want to spend any more CPs in Charisma so you can see my dilemma.

Also, at what Tech aptitude do magic items stop working? When I was playing a Dwarf Techie I remember having 84 aptitude and having my small Charmed Platemail not give the magic bonus.

    Cheers,
    Rogue Trader

If you ask some certain people in Shrouded Hills to mark Dernholm on your map, they will...
I can't remember if the Bessie Toone quest has to be accepted first though.

You have to accept one of the two Dernholm-related quests in Shrouded Hills in order for you to be able to ask around for it. You can't inquire anyone before you've spoke to Percival Toone about his mothers ghost or agreed to fetch the secret ingredients for Jongle Dunne.

PS: About the magickal equipment, I think it differs depending on the item. I'm not 100% sure about this though. Anyway, 84 TA is easily out of reach for any magickal bonus to apply. :)

Don't have a clue in hell about the Charisma though. I would say it's impossible, but I may be wrong. Fuck, I wish that Shady hadn't left.

    Madame Toussaude's gypsy blessing, +1
Geshtianna's idol effect, NOT THE BLESSING, +1
    Jewel of Hebe Medallion, +1
Lady Druella is with the PC, +2
    Kai'tan's Blessing, +1
    Vivifier, +1

I think a couple of Therapeutics items can give a temporary boost as well.

If you're a mild enough techie, try the Ring of Persuasion as well; you might get the needed boost from it.

Know why I stopped hanging out at the Sierra boards? Because everyone there always assume there's only one person in the universe who's capable of providing a correct answer, so even when somebody comes in with an answer it gets ignored until the One Person arrives and repeats it verbatim, and gets all the credit.

I'd just spend the points on charisma, its the best stat in the game as far as I'm concerned.

Below. Way below. Like Dark Elf said, just go back to Shrouded Hills and take either Bessie Toon's quest or Jongle Doon's quest.

See Canis's post. Also, if you have Jayna in your party, she can make Elixir of Persuasion that gives you about half a point of Persuasion temporarily. It is enough to become a Persuasion expert, and you keep the expert status even after the elixir wears out.

Depends on the item. The more powerful the item, the more magic you should be to get its bonuses. At 20 TA you are probably quite unlikely to get bonuses from anything Arcane. At 50 TA you won't get any bonuses from anything. At 60 TA no magic trader will trade with you.
