Where are the key rings >.<

Well this is about my 5th attempt in trying to beat this game (sad, I know, most of them are from getting bored of a character too quick...)

Every game I play I find a keyring in a random trash can, I know there's a simple and easy way to get/buy one but I don't know how.. please help...

you can buy them at general stores, the one in tarant is your best bet

I'm pretty sure the rural general store doesn't have them.

I could've sworn I bought it in Shrouded Hills last time. Or was it Dernholm? I can't really say for sure. I'll check and let you know.

Well... fine. I just got one at shrouded hills... I could of sworn that I checked there and Tarant's general stores and didn't find key rings... maybe it's because the shops inventories change... Thanks

They are random items that appear in the various general stores around Arcanum in a similar fashion to schematics. I've been through an entire game without finding one before, but on the other hand, I've seen more that 30 for sale before throughout the game.

Just in case someone's interested there're shopkeepers' inventory hacks available for download at T-A. They vary so that you can choose one which will make rare objects appear more frequently or one which will make all objects for a given type of shop appear every single time you visit it. These surely come in handy when you already went through the game once and now want to check out all the schematics.

There is a 20% chance that the keyring will appear in rural general stores and a 100% chance that it will appear in city general stores. (There's also a 50% chance that it will appear in a gnomish merchant's store, whatever that is. Maybe the Boil junk dealer?)
