What's your political affiliation, and why?

I am just curious, as i am the political activist type, (or at least i will be someday, as i am still in high school).

I am conservative, because i believe firmly in the laws of America, i believe in free enterprise and self-reliance, i have a strict moral code and sense of values.

I also have distaste for minorities who abandon the "all men are created equal" motto in favor of "give me stuff, i am a minority" (aka Affirmative Action)

I can't stand the ACLU, and other extreme liberal groups, who whine and complain about everything, and i HATE Political Correctness.

I have tremendous respect for the military, and i realize that this is a REAL world, and real solutions must be used to deal with problems, cuz peace and throwing money at problems do not work all the time.

This is not Utopia, and conservatives take a more realistic view of the world, and i share their view.

I'm not sure I understand the options. In Britain we have (in order of right to left):

- Conservative (Tory party, Maggie Thatcher)
- Moderate (Liberal Party, a lot of people you'll bever have heard of)
- Socialist (Labour Party, Tony Blair)

Maybe the poll would be less US-centric if it was:

- Right
- Moderate
- Left

I'm standing up for my political ideals, so I refuse to vote until the poll is amended.

I thought by making it Liberal, Conservative, and I already made it understood by everyone. Didn't know your liberals were our moderates and vice versa.

Thanks, Clothos. I'm a Lefty, then. I think we should heal the sick, feed the hungry, house the dispossessed and generally help out everyone without asking what they have in their wallet first. About the only thing I'm opposed to is clothing the naked.

 

I don't mind helping the poor and hungry, but i don't like helping those who don't try to help themselves first. If you can't hold a job, or live beyond your means, or squander your money on drugs or such, you are a drain, and we should not have to pay for your sloth and drug abuse.

There are people that deserve and need help though.

Not having morals and/or laws is being anti-humanity, as chaos rules, and vigilantes and criminals run rampant, killing, raping, and pillaging as they see fit.
Every available woman would be pregant, every child born out of wedlock, and millions would starve or become diseased as society breaks down.

I believe that order is necessary, and that morals are a GOOD thing. Having compassion and values keeps you from becoming a murderous or evil criminal monster.

The US is pro-freedom, but not anti-morals, at least not most of us.

I would have to agree with the Sheriff (Plus, I'm also British). You also left out Militant dictatorship and monarchy. Not all countries are run by governments...

 

And Marxism, where's the Marxism? I'd say communism, but then you'd think of that whole Russian dictatorship deal, and no one likes that...well, except the dictator, and maybe some of the dictator's favorite cronies, but you get the point...

Dictatorships and autocracies are right.

What do you mean exactly? A dictatorship run by the poor or middleclass? Or do you mean a dictator ruling over the lower classes?

As for me, I'm all for Marxism, too bad everyone is so scared of Communism except Russians, because they see it as evil. Stalin was the man who gave Communism a bad name. Now all stupid people(and most Americans, even some intellectuals) have a totally distorted view of Communism. The trick is not to call it Communism, call it something else, like Neo Anti-Capitalism, yes, that's it..I hereby declare myself founder of the Neo Anti Capitalism Political Party! Who is with me?? Anyone?

 

Communism doen't work in real life. If you for instance pay people equally no matter ho hard they work... people will not raise their efforts, so the economie will collapse.

Capitalisme doesn't work because if you leave everything to the market, certain products and cervices will not be produced anymore.

I'm middle-right myself. Don't ask me why, I'm too young for that.
