What's all this I hear about a castle north of Ashbury?

OK, so I understand there's supposed to be a castle of some dude named Malachi Rench somewhere north of Ashbury. It's been mentioned by townspeople, anyway. But I've traipsed all over the dang place and haven't found it, unless it's the thing that comes up on the map as "Ancient Temple" or "Ancient Shipwreck".

Does it come up later in response to a quest or something? And if not, could some kindly soul give me the coordinates for it?

It's actually on the town map of Ashbury. There's a twisty path to it, and it's surrounded by water.

If you check the town map, scroll north, you can't miss it. It's huge.

 

you also get a nifty lil helm from the main baddie in the castle. it adds 20 ma, while making your align slide 20 pts evil. the thing is, this is not an item effect, its perm. sooo, you want a lil ma for you or any followers, and dont mind getting a bit evil, this thing is your buddy. i had a whole party of 100 ma, -100 align people, it was amusing (=
