I am playing as a techie for the first time and I am wondering what skills to learn... Any suggestion anyone???
Well, I find electricity useful, then explosives, mechanics, smiths and gunsmiths... And herbs could be really good when you start (free healing and fatigue restorers). The problem is that later you can get people to do all this for you (Magnus: smiths and mechanics, Sebastian: explosives and electricity I think, that evil guy in... Dernholm was it??: gunsmiths, and that woman same town (what's wrong with me?? I can't remember the names of my followers???): herbs and therapeutics... I don't really know what's the best to put points to, but I prefer smiths, gunsmiths and electricity. Put some points there and then you can buy manuals and have enough skills to build more useful schematics... _
I tend to put at least a couple of CP's into smithy to get the B. sword. Explosives is extremely useful too, but you should have a bit of throwing to compliment that. Gunsmithy, Explosives and Smithy also allows you to make some of the best found schematics in the game and some decent armour. A lot of people also put points into Electrical because of the ability to produce Tesla guns and charged rings. If you save up a few CP's and then save your character, you can experiment with the disciplines to see which items would be more useful to you.
In the beginning of the game, I always put one CP in explosives. Then you can make molotovs out of the stuff you find in garbage cans. These come in real handy early in the game, since techies start off kind of weak. A couple CPs in electricity, like Ferret suggested, is another good idea. Having a couple of charged rings saves you the 4 CPs that you'd normally have to put into Dex.
im a newbie techie and i started with smithy to get up to the balanced sword which has been owning. i also have gotten electrical for the charged ring and am working on the shocking staff, i put one in gunsmiths to start on that, but havent gotten far. basically, im kinda scattered, any suggestions for future things, ive been thinking about maybe the first in herbology for the healing, but any help would be nice
