Way to get camera to auto-follow?

Is there a way or a mod in the works to get the camera to scroll when you move your character? That is my biggest issue with games like this and Baldur's Gate 1 and 2.

The "camera" in Arcanum isn't actually a camera. Each view you get is a sector of the map, populated by the sprites moving above it. The camera panning is the game's engine trying to keep up with the player while in motion...so, there's no way to change the camera motion in-game unlless you change how the map works.
