Virgil never left

I did the good quest but when I left Qintarra Virgil never left and is still in my party is there anything else to do?

 

If you just left Quintara for the first time, then yes, there's still plenty to do before Virgil leaves you. Among other things, learn about Renford Terwilliger and take it from there.

ok am already at quest 13 of the main plot and Virgil still hasn't left is this a bug?

 

There are a few things that influence whether Virgil leaves the party. Have you loaded the update patch? If not then if you keep to the right (of the screen) when you leave Tseng then Virg will stay with you. There seems to be a trigger point to the left. Once triggered he goes into a tiz about something and leaves. The patch seemed to fix this. The thing to think about is at that stage of the game Virgil is more of a liability than a help (or I found him to be) and so as long as I've taken everything back off him that could be helpful. I don't really mind him leaving.

I myself used the cancel-dialog option and Virgil didn't left me, but followed normally. I just didn't want a 25-level sucker into the 35-level party.
