Why stop at the Aerial Decapitator, Ellumyns Bow and the few others there are. More Unique Weapons should be present and they should be nefariously difficult to obtain. Richard Vorak can see himself wielding Dragnipur from the Malazan tales of the fallen right now...........(eyes glaze over)
True that RV. One thing I liked about BG2 was that you could find loads of magical stuff, and that most of them came with an unique story of their own. I don't know about you, but for me, that added a certain sort of "feel" to the game. As for my own unique equipment wishlist, I'd like to see all the custom stuff I created during my Bots2 days...
Unique weapons are an absolute must. You could even have unique technological weapons. Like the rifle of an old big-game hunter, "Old Painless" or something. It could have special bonuses that can only be attributed to long use, and maybe a kind of "magic of the marksman" that stays with the weapon.
True, true. We shouldn't just limit ourselves to weaponry though. The Iron Clan armor is a perfect example of a unique piece of technological gear. I'd love to see that one with a fleshed out description telling its' history. Say what you want about the BG and IWD series, the equipment descriptions was a nice feature.
Richard Vorak know its a strategy game, not an RPG, but the histories and descriptioons given of the items in Warcraft 3 are very good, perhaps something along these lines would be appropriate.
