Hey, Im playing an idiot character, and I am trying to get to Caladon however all the ships in every port refuse to take me. I am only 17% technological, so it is not a matter of aptitude, I have 19 beauty so its not reaction either. Only thing comes to mind is either the fact I betrayed Bates, or the fact I am an idiot. The captains all say the same thing... Me - Me go with you on boat? Cap - No no. I am afraid I cant take you with me. Only paying passangers may board me fine ship. Me - Me Pay! Cap - Oh I get ye now! ...(what a stupid woman!) ...I'm afraid not.... My only other thought is to go through gorgoth pass but not sure if that's available from the east side?
I found the same problem when I was slow as well, the captains simply don't believe you can pay and they won't give you any other option like work the ship for the journey.
Seeing how much effort was put in to prevent the Living One from getting stuck no matter what he does, I would be quite surprised if there was no way to deal with the situation other than resolving to metagaming. I haven't played as an idiot so far though, so I can't suggest anything more than what Arkain already quoted from me at the moment. I recall people complaining, that in the unpatched game there was a bug preventing the game from moving forward for idiots during the talk with N on the dreadful Isle of T. The question is, how would they get that far to discover that fact if it's impossible to even normally reach Caladon in such a game in the first place? Each and all took advantage of forcing Gorgoth Pass?
I currently have the original unpatched version on my computer so I could do a little testing with an idiot for you.
He's the moron. I mean seriously, who goes around being called Virgo or Vargouille or Vag or whatever. Silly Virgin.
My personal favourite is when you get the name right and he is on top of the world, then you cal him something different and he sort of just sinks.
