Trouble with character points

My character is now at level 10 but I have never had one character point to use to build up their skills. Why is this? Is it because I did not create a character I picked one?

 

You're absolutedly right!
If you pick a character, all your points will be used for you.
Looks like you'll have to start over.

 

The game uses the built-in auto leveling scheme for that character. I think you can change the auto leveling scheme to a custom one or simply turn the schemes off altogether, but I'm not too sure since I've never used a prebuilt character.

 

Are you sure you can turn it off?

Go to the charchter sheet. Above the larce window that displays skills & such here is a little square that looks like parchment with the Arcanum sign on it. That will open the leveling scheeme display. See if you can change it to no scheeme.
