Yes, I know that I need the glasses. I know I need the Kathorn crystal. I know I need to go to the Isle of Despair. I know I need to visit the glassesmaker on Ashbury. Here lies a problem: I don't have the schematics for the glasses. I have the Kathorn crystal. I can't return to the Isle of Despair. I try to visit the glassesmaker but I don't even get a text option for him to make me the glasses. What am I to do? I can't just load a previous save because there is really none! I've just been using autosave. I'm very far and have great cloaks and items and all my party members are high, please help me out!
That's weird... I never had that problem, i always have pickpocket /lock picks so i always stole the schematic. But i think my sister (she plays more then me ) said something about talking him into giving it to you. Ok, that's wasnt very helpful, the guys who actually have something usefull to say will post soon .
That's definately weird. Has never happened to me. Standard Question: Are you patched? If not, try installing the 1.0.7.4 Patch and see what happens. Can be found here: http://www.terra-arcanum.com/station/downloads.shtml Other than that, what's your perception? This may be a tiny spoiler, but 20 PE will allow you to see the entrance without any glasses. But you seem to be a mage, so you may not have that kind of Perception... onder: Oh, and welcome to the forum blackhat! :wavey:
1) Rock up to Mr Glasses. 2) say 'what kind of glasses do you make' or 'what do you do here' or something 3) listen to vapid old man and then ask 'can you make custom spectacles for me?' 4) Hand over crystal and 1000 big ones. 5) Problem solved I had a similar problem when I started playing. The trick is that the dialogue is two-step and you have to ask the right questions.
Believe me, I know that it is a two-step dialogue, i haven't gotten this far withouth knowing certain dialogue pieces are unlocked later... lol. I think I will have to cheat and upgrade my perception then get in and upgrade down again.
I guess the reason why 20 perception lets you see the entrance is because of the "sense invisible" bonus. I've never really noticed the advantages of having twenty perception over 18.
That's because invisible things and creatures are very, very rare. For all I know, the only place you enounter invisible creatures is in Tulla (Air Mastery Quest I believe) Too bad, too bad...
Isn't there an "Invisible Crusher"? I saw it on WorldEd, or Maybe I should say I DIDN'T see it because it was Invisible. Kindof like like the Temporal Crusher except invisible. I was wondering if there was one in the game. I don't guess so, because I'm sure I would have run into it by now.
Okay, I cheated and made my perception 20 but I still can't see the damn door. I assume this is because when you use a trainer to upgrade to 20, you don't gain that skill. Well this is a fine how-do-you-do. What am I supposed to do? I have the latest Arcanum installed but there is no dialogue option to ask the glasses maker to make glasses!
I think it not Air Mastery quest. Its Divination Mastery quest, because it is the Divination college that has the See Invisible spell.
Oh, so that's where it came from. I don't think I've ever done the Divination Mastery test. I don't really like the Divination Collage anyway.
The game is well writen to protect the plotline. If you have not talked to Thorvald, or otherwise found out about the Wheel Clan & the Glasses, you can return to the IoD. If you kill the glasses maker, he will respawn. I have heard more than a few ways to have a problem there, but never yours. If you havn't talked to Thorvald yet, or raided his chest, I know that the custom glasses dialog will not come up. I don't know if you can talk to him & NOT get the glasses section of the dialog or even if that would affect the Ashbury conversations. Did you try talking to Teach again?
Yop I had this problem too. I just loaded a position, use faithpoint AND stole the glasses from Thory's eyes(quickest solution)!
