If I go in Invisible mode, like using the Whysper's Gem, I get a lot of messages when talking to other NPCs: "Error! Missing line XXXXX in mes\gd_cls_m2m.mes file" (I assume it's the same for female characters.
It would help if you could list the line numbers in question. When you're invisible (by the use of either Whysper's Gem or the actual spell), you get special floating lines when trying to talk to somebody. As far as I'm aware, all these lines are present in the game and should work correctly. I know you're working on a translation, so perhaps you have screwed up something related to these .mes files, unintentionally.
Hi Drog, To be sure for this, I've verified the lines on the .mes file, and they are correct. After that I've put the english gd_cls_m2m.mes file (UAP) in the \Arcanum\data\mes folder directly, but the error persists and it's the same. It's not only 1 NPC or 1 line, if I talked to 10 persons, 4 or 5 of them give me the problem. For example, Mr. Razzia (on Caladon) it's one of them. I've used the Whysper's Gem and after that talked to him. Some other people on this tabern give me the error message also when in Invisible mode using this method and other people, although I am invisible, show their dialog as if I was talking "visible" with them. Maybe this problem is not .mes related? EDIT: Also when I have the Whysper's Gem in the Qickslot and a Emerald Shard on the inventory, it counts as 2 (the emerald shards are added to the counter of the quickslot where is the Whysper's Gem) EDIT 2: The same happens spellcasting Invisivility (now tested).
I just checked Mr. Razzia and the tavern people and the invisibility specific lines do appear correctly for me, as always. What exact line numbers do pop up for you in the error messages? Also, please try this in the English version. Arcanum isn't exactly translation-friendly and is very easy to break if you alter even a single file without the full understanding of its contents, thus I usually don't accept bug reports from translated versions (even the official German and French translations had severe bugs introduced in the process of translating).
In Mr. Razzia case is the line 22450 but I've checked it and it's well on the .mes file. About the bug reports... so... I can not report any more bugs? Do you prefer this?
The line won't be read, however, if you have fucked up the numbering prior to it. Do you have the original English release (I assume you do, since you're trying to translate the UAP)? If you're unsure if a bug is specific to your WIP translation of the game, try loading the same save in the English version and checking it before posting it here.
Well, I've not fucked up the number prior to it, but 1000 numbers prior to it, yes. Problem solved. If you want, the previous posts about this issue can be deleted. All right, then. I will try to use this method.
Glad to help. If you have any further questions regarding the translation process/modding, I will answer them by PM. EDIT: Split the posts into a new thread. You can post your further questions here as well.
