Throne of Darkness

I've just started playimg this game, having a break from arcanum. Has anyone on this site got any feedback about it. I dont think it will ever beat fallouts or arcanum, but i'm having fun!

 

Hum throne of darkness sounds familiar, dont think i played it. fallout2 is the best

I played this game today over at a friends house. It's looks good but it's not really comparible with FO/Arcanum. More a diablo kind of game. Lots of click 'n hack. There is character leveling though if only limited. A few character stats like strength and charisma and hitpoints/ki(mana).
What I thought was interesting was the way you can make new weapons by combining magic item's and weapons.

 

throne of darkness- it's set in feudal japan- you have a bank of 7 samurai who do the usual stuff- kill find stuff. it's made by sierra. but i agree, fallout 2 is without compare- i just cant seem to get bored replaying it. baldur's gate, etc, i've only managd to play 2 or 3 times. they just dont compare.
anyway, i've only been playing throne for a day, and it's pretty good.

 

When you mentioned feudal japan, I finally realized what game you were talking about. There's an advert for it on the back of the Arcanum manual.

 

I like the graphics. Japanese style almost automatically makes for a stylised look (plus the 1024 res and 24 bit color ofcourse)

 

You mean that samurai game that is on Arcanum's box? Isn't it in beta?

I tried the demo. I couldn't stand it. Has it changed any since the demo?

 

I guess not. I played the full game today and it's Diablo in Japan. Not my cup of tea, but if you like Diablo you'll like this game.

The most controversial thing about Diablo2 is that it's been replayed the most times (that's my guess...except D1 maybe) Even though If you look at it the other way you wouldn't even wanna play it once.

 

I can't stand the choppy 640 of the original d2 That game stuck me deep in the heart, afterwards after recowering, I cursed Blizzard for making such a lame excuse for wasting all those years... Diblo1 yes part 2? I think most people play it because they have notin better to do.

I though diablo2 was quite enjoyable. I said was, it used to have a really good atmosphere, all the darkness and everything.

 

D1 was eve more boring then D2, i must say i killed alotta time on d2... but then i forced myself to quit.

 

My girlfriend and I both killed a lot of time on D2 and LOD, but didn't need to force ourselves to quit. Blizzard did that by having a patch cycle that seems to be the worlds longest drawn out cascade failure.

I wouldn't even be playing Arcanum if the last patch on LOD hadn't made it impossible for me to connect to BNet. When I couldn't play it anymore, my bro told me about Arcanum and I went out and bought it.

It was the best thing that Blizzard have ever done for me. I even posted to one of their forums thanking them for making me look elsewhere.

Arcanum is so much more enjoyable that Diablo, even though Diablo does inspire a kind of manic "must get better weapon" attitude that makes it hard to leave the game.

My sweet Chiemi... Reimi... Miss Yumi... Endless replayability. 256 color hentai... It doesn't get any better than that.
