For the love of god people---DO NOT buy Pool of Radiance---it chews windows files to pieces and spits them out!!! MORROWIND coming soon!!
hmmm Well, I'm not a big fan of D&D dungeon crawler myself so yes I do agree. And when is Morrowind coming out? Early 2002?
huh? What did I say that made you not wanting to buy? Have I insult someone or something? Aaaaarrrrgh!
well... Well, Saint_Proverbius really likes it, and he hates bg2 and likes Arcanum (which is a good sign he has good tastes). I dunno. Do you like crawling around enormous dungeons with a party max of 6, fighting in turn-base with some rules of the 3rd edition implemented in?
hmmm Yep. D&D, few NPCs to talk to, more biased on tactics and combat. Basically you dont want this if you need to talk to NPCs, if you like open ended rpgs or if you don't like turn base.
Yeah, I really, really like it. Dungeon Crawls typically aren't my thing. There's only a few I've liked in the past. Dungeon Master(old Amiga game), Eye Of The Beholder series, Demise, and now this. The game has a GREAT feel to it. The first dungeon you go in is centuries old, and it's been remodelled several times by several species. It LOOKS like patchwork. Best of all, there are actually quests in the dungeons. They're not just some shop keeper up top telling you he'll give you something cool if you bring him something either, you actually find things INSIDE to do. Also, the dungeons aren't just random pockets of monsters. They have bases set up in there, blockades, barracks, and so on. They don't mix and match unlike monsters either. Orcs have their turf, undead are elsewhere. There are even places where Orcs and Zombies fight one another. Also, the scripting of the dungeon changes to reflect your party. A party with a ranger will know more about markings in dirt than a rangerless one. Hell, I could go on and on about the things I like in this game, but I think I'll stop short here.
PoR2 That pretty much means that this game is worth a try to any rpg player looking for something new. It does sound interesting.
