Well, I didn't want to join so I never bothered with this, but a friend of mine who started a while ago wants to join... The problem is that he killed those bastards at Shrouded Hill's bridge without talking to them. Is there any way to talk with Mr. Black or the other guy (can't remember his name, the one who's supposed to give you the first quest) after that?
there's a chick in tarant who wants a headstone from an elven grave... get it for her, and you can join.
Yes, by getting the headstone, you are recognised as a thief and invited to join. Another way is to talk to the man standing by the bar in Madam Lil's and say you are interested in thievery. He will also invite you to join. Either way, you still have to get the sewer map though.
Never get the sewer map BEFORE you get the quest. I did, and was never able to get the guy to recognize that I'd acquired it. So I could never join.
I don't think he'll initiate you unless you've done either the Elf Gravestone quest or the Shrouded Hills bridge thing.
what exactly is the thieves guild? how can i join? if i am going to play a thief, what is the best way to start out? thanks.
The thieves underground is a loose confederation of thieves in Tarant and Caladon. It gives you the ability to sell certain stolen items. You join by stealing the sewer maps from the twon hall. You have to be invited to join though. The best way is to put a point into persuasion at the beginning of the game and then convince Lukan the witless (Rosie' bitch) at the bridge in Shrouded Hills that you are a thief from Tarant's underground. Another way is to get the Elven funeral headstone for Mrs Pettibourne. Once you've done either of these then talk to the man standing by the bar in Madam Lil's and he will invite you to talk to a man in the east of town. Give him the plans. You can also be invited if the man recognises you as an expert in any theiving ability (ie. picklock, pickpocket etc).
what if i destroyed the bridge materials for lukan but didnt convince him im a thief, can i still get in that way, or do i have to find an expert
