Spoiler here... Talk to her son (the large house outside the mine entrance, with an half-ogre guard). : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : His sister in Dernholm will be mentioned. However, you cannot make him tell you where Dernholm is - but that doesn't matter. Go outside and ask some villagers. Some of them will have the option "Where is Dernholm" included. Once in Dernholm, the girl is in a small house to the NW (upper-left) of the tavern. [ This Message was edited by: kcwong on 2002-02-19 03:02 ]
Definitely the sister. You get a filament sword out of the deal. All the brother gives you is a few hundred bucks. I'm pretty sure that you get a lot more experience if you give the deed to the sister, also.
Hmmm... I guess it's possible. I never tried it. I do know that if you give the deed to the sister, then the quest for the brother gets marked as a failure in the log book. But who knows? It's worth a try. Just make sure you give it to the sister first. Then if it doesn't work, at least you got the better deal.
I actually tried that. Give it to the brother and it will disappear from his inventory. Don't know if that's true for the sister as well but would ASSUME so...
And when you are done go back to the mines, there is some pure ore lying on the ground. And there is a new unlocked item in there with a boot. I've read somewhere that somebody in Tarant gives it to you for 500gp, although I have no idea where this is. Could somebody tell me?
The boot is there before you release the ghost. You can sell the boot to Raz? in Shrouded Hills for information, then buy it back for about 3 gold, then sell it to the in Tarant (the building with Gar the Orc). You can't get 500 gold... unless you have very high haggle skill.
