The Let's Play Pirates! voting thread

Yeah, I know, we're gonna have two of these. It's awful. But I promised Pirates, so Pirates we will have. Coincidentally, Pirates and Arcanum have had a long standing battle. Will Arcanum have its revenge on the Pirates? Will Pirates destroy Arcanum once more? None of these questions will be answered.

The basic plot line is as follows: You're an eight year old kid, eating dinner with your family in Europe somewhere, celebrating that a ship from the Caribbean is en route to help pay off your debts to Marquis Montalban. Suddenly, the Marquis bursts open the door to tell you that the ships have 'mysteriously' sunk to the bottom of the ocean, so he's now bringing everybody to do hard labour in the Caribbean for him. What a douce. Anyways, there's some sort of thing going on with this gold chain on your neck, and it encourages you to bail and run away from home, where you do odd jobs (chimney sweeping, probably) for 10 years, before signing up with a ship so you can go to the Caribbean and save your family from vile criminals (ohoho, irony).

Our Pirate's name for this adventure will be Arcanum, meaning people will refer to him as Mr. Arcanum, Captain Arcanum, Duke Arcanum, etc., unless there are objections.

 

Everytime I play Pirates now I name my character Placeholder in honor of my WoW days. Captain Placeholder was awesome

What level do you plan to play at?

 

I recently upgraded myself to Swashbuckler, though old age sometimes forces me into Adventurer or Rogue.

 

Yeah I am stuck at rogue in the old age, when the Spanish put a 40k+ bounty on my head it becomes, interesting...

 

This ought to be interesting. There'd better be plenty of good old-fashioned violence, vengeance and heavy drinking and whoring going on here, my boy.

 

The real question is, what will you aim to achieve? Will you defeat the evil baron and free all of your family, or will you simply discover every hidden city/treasure while defeating all the pirates and converting the entire Caribbean to Dutch control?

 

Why is it an or decision? I always manage to do it all.
