The game is crashing when I try to enter Stillwater or Dernholm.Only in those places.
I reinstall game, apply patch, disable antivirus, disable sound.
I downloaded someone`s savegame and loaded it.I can enter every place without Stillwater and Dernholm.

    My computer is:
    Barton 2,5
    2x256MB 400MHz RAM
    EPOX 8RDA
On partition with Arcanum I have some GB free space and 4GB swap file.

If anybody could help me I will be very gratefull!!:)Plizzzz:)

PS.My english isn`t good so forgive me it:)

This doesn't really sound like a bug with Arcanum, but rather a problem with a file. What you have sounds like a corrupted map file. First thing I would check is your game CD for scratches, dirt or fingerprints. Then check to see if the reinstalling the original dat files will fix the problem, especially Arcanum.dat because it has the maps in it. You might also try deleting all the files with the strange looking names in your map directory under Sierra\Arcanum\modules\Arcanum\maps\. None of those files have an extension on them and none of them are in subdirectories of the \maps subdirectory. When you run the game, it will generate those files as you play.

Please let me know if any or none of these work. Good luck fixing the problem. :)

what I found out one time was to delete ALL the files in the arcanum directory (except saves of course) then reinstall the game. Its definitely a map problem though!

Paramanian's on the right track. I never had that problem myself, but an acquaintance of mine did, and he fixed it by doing the above.
