    I am playing Arcanum the first time under Windows XP.
    When I chose to rest, instead of the usual fading, the game becomes coloured and pixelized with different shades of magenta/blood red.
    I tried the search function but found nothing which could've help me.
    Any suggestions?

    All Win XP updates and the Arcanum patch are installed.

    Tried a video driver update? Or DirectX? Or tried a reinstall? Do in that order, or at least that's what I'm prescribing.

    I have the latest Nvidia Drivers version 56.72 and tried reinstall.
    But I just ran DxDiag and found out I still have DX 8.1 (had a system reinstall last week).
