Stats for Techie characters

Hey everybody. I was just wondering what you guys think is a good stat to put points into for techie characters in addition to intelligence

And what backgrounds are good for techies?

 

Try perception(Im assuming youll be a gunfighting tech). Background? Raised by monks, the +1 to pe in exchange for starting money is great.. Hope this helps.. and btw andym27, welcome to the forum....:smoke:

Mad Sientist is great giving you a bonus in Perseption and intelligence. Another on could be Mirace Operation that gives you good int and extreme Per but really bad Con and Str.

Depends on what you want to techie to do.

For firearms you need Perception. Plus some Strength. It takes a strength of 7 to use revolvers up to 12 for the Elephant gun.

For melee, throwing, bow, lockpicking etc... you need Dexterity.

If you want a lot of followers and/or a high Persuasion you need Charisma.

Etc, etc...

Just sit down and think about the character and decide what skills you want to focus on and it'll be obvious where you need to put the points. You might want to give the Character Planner on the main page a try it'll help you figure out what kind of character you'll have in the long run.
