Stat cap

I'm curious.

 

Well, you can, blessings of th gods and stat boosting items can help you with that. So it OK for me, because I believe it's realistic, that people, which are born with some flaws will not become perfect i some categories (for example, one who has to wear glasses because of eye injuries will not become a master sharpshooter), unless thay have some helping items of supernatural forces which help them.

 

It's fine with me. I just wish I could raise stats further beyond the maximum than certain races allow.

 

It was never a problem for me, as I was always a male human.

 

So no racial modifier, but you always could have a background negative modifier. However, if you would choose one, I believe your goal would not be having 20 at that it. Or maybe you just choosen the most neutral background, which is no background.

 

I hate it so much I want to scream. Honestly.

I'm afraid I can't agree. But I don't like to say facts which are unsure, so I tried in in practice, by checking it in 'Virgil the pervert' module. And it is easy to check, that, for example, for a human with 'miracle operation' background, the maximum strenght possible to get with character points is 17 (the background is -3 str) while maximum possible constitution is 15 (background -5). So background penalties actually do affect the stat cap.

 

In my time here, I've discovered that this is an inevitable event. The only difference is that it may take longer or shorter depending on how interesting the topic is.
